In 1979 an american diplomat was taken hostage in Iran. He was a hostage for two years, untill 1981. The way he was rescued was by taking controll over the situation. How? Whenever a guard would walk into his room, the diplomat invited him to sit. "They've became my guests" he later explained and "I gradually took over control over the situation. I've created an undoubted feeling that the room was my space, my teritory and that helped me immensly." What made it possible for him to do that?
