Post subject:  Does getting rejected online help?

Just wondering if getting used to rejections online like POF help with accepting rejections in person? I personally don't have much of a problem getting rejected in person but after getting over some anxiety of what to say in messages online, I've more or less overcome AA. I started using POF a couple weeks ago and the first week I got absolutely no responses cause I'd always start with same lame messages like " hey i think your cute blah blah blah" or id read their profile "i like blah blah too" or "we should go out some time" and so on. I've lately started not really giving so much a fuck about what I say and just say whatever. My last message to a girl was "i always have people asking me if they can stick things in my butthole" and got a response right away. I feel like I've more or less accomplished my fear of AA, I've only approached a couple girls in person recently but I didn't feel any AA either of those times. I'm just wondering, do you think getting used to rejection on a dating site could help with getting used to rejection in the field?

i haven't ventured into the online game very much but my opinion is no.

for me the biggest thing about approaching is not the rejection itself, its looking bad in front of my friends, or other people at the party/club what have you. its being in that social situation that causes AA for me....not just gettin shot down in the same sense as online

but whatever helps you man, i am just giving you my personal opinion, for others it could be very beneficial

No, it's not the same at all much like Internet Tough Guys won't suddenly become brave in person because of all of the people they've TOLD! online.
