Ok that subject tile is probably a little misleading. Ok well I am a glam rock singer and for those who don't know, just look at pictures of bands like The Darkness, Motley crue, Guns n roses or Iron maiden and thats essentially my wardrobe SPAM. I am an incredibly flamboyant dresser by nature, in other words when I'm dressed down, I'm dressed up! and peacocked as all hell.
One thing I've noticed is that it is not the 80's any more and big hair and spandex really isnt that appealing to girls as it once were. It's really my life, I just love the music and the dress soo much it really is apart of my job/career and who I am!
In addition I dont think girls crave bon jovi as much as back in the day, ok so here it is,
Should I keep my work (Gigging) and Pick up/love life sepperate? keep my flamboyant costumes for the stage and have some normal clothes on the side, I was thinking maybe a russel brande kind of look, seeing is I already have long hair?

Check out IAmTheFuture on Rules of Seduction, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SsjDvowh9A or some of his videos on youtube. He's very flamboyant.
Russell Brand is a living example of that approach. Watch his interviews, especially ones with girls.
Sasha has a pretty flamboyant personality and has the long hair look, http://vimeo.com/19738331
Also check out OGFurious for just how crazy you can go with this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z90MizQGMuk

Do your thing man, just be at ease with it.

It all depends on what kind of girls do you want, if you like lawyers/nurese, you dress like a banker, if you like goth/rock girls you dress like rock star.

That kind of rock stlye is great for some venues, especially at night, but during the day girls have this social norms switch (which is the biggest bullshit we got from modern society) turned on and I suggest, that you combine your style with other styles, if you like rock star look and you want to make it little more socialy adjustable, you can combine a style that you like and the average of the girls'll like.
Personaly I also like to combine with different styles, right now I'am somewhere between a rocker and a rapper :D
You can check out for german singer Scooter he also has some mixed styles of rock/techno/house (I know I got too much on the music thread here) and as far as I think it comes out great. :D

What do you guys think of wearing mostly band shirts? I own them from lots of classic rock and newer bands and get compliments on it, but I'm afraid it's too Beavis and Butthead or Wayne's World. It's kinda my "thing," but I'm not sure if it gets perceived that way. What do you guys think about band shirts?

I think band shirts are not the best to wear. There are great modern looking t-shirts for a great price in shops like New Yorker or similar, just make sure nothing lame or stupid is written on them. Make sure they fit you nicely, that they're not too loose, try some with the V cut, it looks really nice and strong.

Zac, Russel Brand is like my idol. I had him on my desktop for a while so I could soak up some of that sexiness! So if you can pull off his look, good for you!

Depends on where you are. Clubs? No.

Rock bars. YES. I have a thing for emo/goth chicks. Wearing a semi-unknown band T-shirt can get girls opening you. I've had "I love that band". "Wow someone who's heard of XXXX!".

Dress for the venue.

edit: Although saying that. You do get rock chicks hanging out in normal clubs. You'll generally get a very warm welcome and easy open because the last 15 guys to hit on them were jocks. But you will limit your options on club girls.
