I would like to know if anyone has a tips on straightening you hair. Is it true you should put special stuff on it to protect it against the heat. Are there any recommended models of straightener? |

At the moment I have bog-standard wavey-ish long hair, but I'm considering get a hair style like an anime character, which would require straightening. |

My hair is medium length and wavy. it is dark brown. Sometimes I gel it back when I want to look smart, but when I go for the more casual look I straighten it and yes - i do put on special cream before I straighten it. This is actually a very important measure in regards to straightening ones hair, as one should never put a flat iron on ones hair without first putting on a layer of heat protection. You can singe your hairs and make them really fuzzy, damaging your hair permanently. |

Yen I use them man, there great had them for a couple years now (men’s GHDs) I don’t bother with all the heat serums, but what does make my life easier is using conditioner in your hair. The cleaner your hair the better. I’m not Asian btw im from Glasgow lol. Don’t use hair gel its just looks shit, use either wax or gum (gum is better) works a treat then my secret weapon is hair spray that shit is a must will keep your hair solid all night without looking greasy, unless it rains.... then your fucked lol Cheers Lance PUA |

Ive got long standard brown hair a little past my shoulders, and after washing it, it goes into a massive wavy mess and looks atrocious, the only time i have it out is after i straighten it. My ex used to use her GHD on my hair, and that was awesome, but now that im single im using a crappy brand one, and it just doesnt cut it, and i think it is ruining my hair cause it is so dodgy.. thinking about cutting it altogether as i cant afford a ghd... any tips ( i have a whole other post about cutting my hair, i am very self conscious about having a weird shaped head, but i think my hair might be holding me back from picking up) |

Hey guys, im a men's hairdresser apprentice and i would recommend that you do put heat serum on your hair bcuz it will eventually ruin it, if you straighten it a lot without the serum. I have 'anime character hair'. Chicks seem to like it, then again they lie abit too. Also after you get your hair they way you like it, hairspray and blow dryer on hot (from a distance so that is dosen't blow your hair out of place). The heat from the blow dryer will kinda freeze the hairspray. Hope this helps. by the way GHD's are the shit! |
