Post subject:  facial hair newbie

Hi,

First week of the StyleLife challenge, so open to facial hair changes. Up till now most of my adult life I've been clean-shaven on the face. Then over xmas I was sick and stopped shaving. A platonic GF came round after I had a bout 4 or 5 days growth and commented that it suited me better than clean-shaven look, so I thought I'd keep it, see what ppl thought. My hairdresser, another platonic GF backed GF1 up.

It gives me a good opener (can I get a female opinion, facial hair on a man, yes or no) and one HB7 used the words "awesome" which rocked my lil world.

But.... I have no experience in how to shape and maintain the thing, can somebody tell me or point me to a resource for this?

I know I'll need to clip it (probably even now, as moustache at the corners of my mouth are nearly hanging into my mouth), also been advised to clip the throat down to stubble length or clean shave. Also put some shape into the "chops" and goatee etc.

do I buy a normal hairdressers clipper for the hair on your head?
do I used the same clipper for cutting clean-shaven definition into it?
help !!!!

thanks guys

Hi Dan,

One good way would be winging a PUA, would you consider doing some winging with me and/or 1 or 2 others?

A wing who is not gonna want to hit on any targets could be a good thing for me LOL

For you, you get the chance to meet lots of new people, engage groups, do all the things you're looking to do basically!

Also a chance to hang out with others into social dynamics, though using it to different ends obviously.

And your missus will be ok with it, as you will be winging rather than gaming :-)

What sort of performing are you doing / getting into? This good be good DHV for me/us LOL.

PM me if you prefer to keep it private.

cheers,
BC

What I usually have is either a Goatee or what I can a Mexican Goatee(shaving the sides off a Goatee off, sure it's called something lol)

I use a Babyliss i-trim like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002FGTIZ0/r ... B002FGTIZ0

and then shave off the rest with a Gillette Fusion Power Razor, always works for me, leaves it almost smooth (My beard is a bitch to shave sometimes, it's kinda curly)

lucky bastard, I barely have a beard. I get like hair on my chin a thin line connecting to a a soul patch, and a moustache that doesn't quite meet at the middle.

We all have our challenges FrankD22

I have a 3/4 inch gap between my hairline and my beard, makes growing sideboards impossible. Also the hair on my cheeks is not very dense at all.

My tache and under my chin are like a forest though. Makes for an uneven beard, so I've decided to go goatee.

Moustaches that don't meet in the middle are very gangster no? As long as their thinned down. Didn't Benny Blanco from the Bronx have one like that in Carlitos Way, or maybe I'm trippin LOL ?

man, that sucks :( , goatees are pretty awesome though.

yea as much as I would like a full beard, when I grow my facial hair out, people say I kinda look like Johnny Depp so thats not so bad.
