Since lately i've been thinking about going to to bars alone to break my social anxiety and hopefully get some action. I thought i should ask this question. As of now i'm a jeans/t-shirt/sneakers person. Its not that i'm less comfortable wearing other clothes or anything. I just prefer the lazy/relaxed fit of it all. tips/opinion are welcome on what would be a direction to go, if any.

You may want a more relaxed fit but does it reflect a sloppy appearances? Jeans and sneakers don't go along. It's very.. un-stylish. if you want to attract, you have to be well groomed and well dressed. if you want to dress like that, you should go to a beach.

That's cause you're used to it. Used to dressing that way. I used to think i dressed well, till i realized that things just didn't match. It's not really what you think, but what others think. Isn't it?

I am like you in the regard that I also prefer the lazy/relaxed fit. Most of the time when I do go out I don't even get dressed up. I just go what ever I am wearing. The only times when I do get dressed up is if the place I am going to requires a more dressed up attire.

That look may be very well un-stylish, but one thing I have learned from fashion is a lot of it is how you carry your self with the looks of your clothes. As your clothes are a project of who you are as a person.

Jeans, t-shirt and trainers (or sneakers in your country) can be a good look if you pull it off right. My advice to you is to wear brown trainers or better yet proper stylish shoes (these are usually the same price or cheaper than trainers). Dark jeans (with belt) and a decent t-shirt which looks cool and fits well, none of that crap you buy in Asda. Add some chickbate, decent haircut and aftershave and your good to go.

chickbate?

And maybe someone could tell me what qualifies as being stylish shoes. I've never kept up with what is or is not in style.

I just wear what I feel like wearing. But if Im going out to a real party I might wear more high class things. Exceptional stuff but still classy. To just go to a bar... Just wear whatever you always wear. If you cannot pickup in Jeans and T-shirt you shouldnt be doing this at all.

I go out in whatever I feel comfortable in. A polo, or t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a pair of sneakers

I see alot of male celebrities wearing the jean/t-shirt/sneakers style, mostly during the day when they are out shopping (in magazine/papparazzi photos) and I think it works for alot of them. is that just because of who they are? I think alot of females are attracted to that look, because if they werent why would these guys be dressing like this? they are famous, they wouldnt go out in public looking stupid.(some do but, im not talking about them) guy's like Wilmer Valderamma, Ashton Kutcher, and Brody Jenner, all go out like this on a regular basis and they are known for looking good from what ive seen. obviously they don't dress like this at award ceremonies or movie premiers, and they don't when they are @ clubs of fancy restaurants but i think it is ok for daytime stuff. do you guys agree or disagree?

here are some examples:

Well considering I go to the gym 2x a day I dress very relaxed. Usually no more than a pair of white sneakers, jeans/sweats, and a t-shirt or polo. Since I don't really pursue any day game due to work and the gym it flows. But when I go out at night it's an entirely different scenario. Tailored shirt, tighter jeans, dress shoes/boots, and usually a blazer. Seems to work well.

Do not ever listen to advice like this, I haven't posted for a while but this needed to be addressed.

I've read a few post's about how you should dress for other people - the end of this road leads to caring what people think which is a quick way to being unhappy.

Just be completely comfortable with what you wear and make sure you carry it off. Clothes should be a reflection as you as a person.

In my late teens I consistently slept with women in their later twenties wearing exactly what you described in you're post, jeans, t-shirts and air force one's. People on this site who have been out with me can confirm that these weren't just 5's or 6's we're talking 8's and above.

The best example I can think of is Russell Brand, do you think he dresses for other people or buys EXACTLY what he wants to wear regardless of what everyone else thinks.

I think you need to look at context when it comes to dress. If you only dress like a slouch, you're going to look like a dope in a higher class club if you even get past the bouncer and their dress code requirements. Forget approaching higher class 10s if you look like you just came back from study hall. If you're just walking down the street or hanging out in a pub, different set of requirements.

After years of dressing like a slouch (and not getting dates) I gave myself a fashion make over and now always dress sharp but casual, so that if I was going to a club all I'd need to do is add props and accessories and I wouldn't stand out, but on the street or at work I'd stand out for being a sharply dressed dude. You never know when you're going to get an invite to an opportunity to sarge. Just today I got a last minute invite to go to a great event and as it turns out I slid in very nicely because I was already dressed for success.
