Have it long enough that it can still be styled. You can then peacock when you are out sarging - through gel it, colouring it etc...

In my opinion long hair looks good on some guys (very few can pull it off though) and short hair looks good on most. I think you should get it cut to about 3 inches long, then maybe do a little whip with your bangs going over your forehead if thats not your best feature. Don't be afraid to ask your friends / the hairstylist what sort of look would suit you. This is just my initial impression. When I had super long hair (down to my shoulders) I was SO anti hair-cut and anti short hair, but after I got a hair cut, I regretted not doing it sooner. One of the best decisions I've ever made. |

Sharplin has some good advice. I would suggest asking a female friend to come with you when you get your hair cut for some opinions. Also, ask the person cutting your hair about what she thinks would look good on you. They LOVE doing this cause it allows them to be creative at the same time with your hair and they usually know what kind of haircut works well with different facial/head features (big forehead, etc). The fact that you already have long hair will give you that much more hair style options. But go to a 'good' place to get your haircut. If the person cutting your hair doesn't have her own hair styled, then request someone who does. You want a stylist not a barber. Best, J-Dub |

Since you're a dutchie, why dont you pay a visit to Kinky Kappers? they have shops everywhere I think. I got my hair cut once there and it was pretty fucking awesome, I told them to go crazy as well but to bring out my best facial features (high cheekbones for me). They are experts. |

ok so hear me out for a second. i spend about 15-20 mins just doing my hair before i go ANYWHERE. i get too self consious otherwise . i was on the train the other day and some random chick just came and sat next to me and started sayin about how she likes my hair and crap. (she was pretty hot but one of those annoying chicks who just doesnt shut the fk up). I spend a fair bit of time on my hair. Probly one of my best features if i do say so myself. If its not done up i look like a wierdo. Anyways. I definatly think you should get it cut. Cut it short enough so it can be styled. Things to remember- *If you gel it up, you can wash it out, *if you cut it too short, it ill grow back, *if you don't cut it short enough, you can cut it short enough, *if you dont like the curl, straighten it, *Just experiment Now to add style. straighten the curly bits (sure use your sisters straightener. i do.) and also your fringe and back of your hair if it curls up. now chuck in some good strength hair wax and mess that shit up (I suggest wax not gel cuz gel gives hair a "wet" look. doesnt suit anyone really). make it look messy- but not like a bum messy- in fact to explain it better make it look edgy. and if you need use some hair spray to keep it in place. Hopefully i linked this right. but to show you my hair im the one right in front of the camera with the hood with fur on. I'm going to second HitTheLightsPumpTheStrobe's advice here. I take a decent amount of time to do my hair before I go anywhere as well and I also want to emphasize that wax is the way to go. I would cut the hair so it doesn't curl on the ends and then do what I do. Get your hair damp on the verge of being dry. Throw an appropriate amount of wax (depending on hair length) on your fingers and rub your hands together. Then I just mess my hair up giving it an obviously messy look. |
