| Post subject: | My perceived "Flaws" |
Just thought I would put out some of the physical flaws in my style/looks/everything that I'd want to change, and maybe some of you would have some thoughts or valuable insight into my matters. 1. Skin Condition I have a skin condition that affects the color and dryness of my skin. It is almost always dry and flakey, almost like a full body dandruff. As for color, there are various spots of lighter and darker skin, so I don't think tanning would really be for me. I get outdoors a lot skateboarding, so I have a pretty decent natural tan coming along this summer, but there's still a noticeable contrast in skin color. I'm not insecure about it though... but it would be nice to have 1 color of skin. lol 2. Non-photogenic I don't see myself as ugly or anything, but I'm REALLY not photogenic, I always look like a fool in photos. I'm decently videogenic, but when it comes to still life, something is lost. I could have a day where I'm feeling particularly attractive, so I'll take a photo or two, and they always end up looking 1/10th as good as what I saw in the mirror. 3. Hairstyle needs a boost Up until January this year, I had hair that went down past my shoulders.. but I decided it was time for a change (I actually grew up pretty antisocial and gothy all through highschool, but grew out of that). I got my haircut a while back and it was decent. I recently went to get more of a trim, and I feel like they took too much... I'm having a hard time finding anything I can do with my hair right now that will make me look as awesome as I feel. |

For your skin condition, you could go to a makeup store and see what works for you. You never know what some cover up could do for your confidence. As far as being photogenic....who cares! i never ever think im photogenic and i used to complain about it until someone told me that no body thinks that they are photogenic. Even if you are truly less photogenic than everyone else, how often do you use pictures of yourself to pick up girls? And as for the hair. In highschool i used to have long hair as well and thought that it looked good on me....it didnt. Shorter hair is usually the way to go, and when you arent used to it, it will always feel like they took too much off after your haircut. What i would suggest doing is tell them that you want to go shorter but nothing too dramatic, and then dont wait so long to get another haircut and go a little shorter. It is important you feel comfortable with your own hair but if you ever feel like the haircut you just got doesnt suit you, give it a couple days. usually when i get a haircut i dont like, in a weeks time it grows in just right and i get more used to it and i end up loving my hair. Hope this helped! |

i agree with him, except for the hair issue. yeah, i think too long is bad, such as down below your shoulders. me, it just goes to the jawbone, and has a nice style to it that girls seem to like. its a bit on the supposed "scene" side, but they way i dress and act it doesnt come across as that way. just remember, there was a story about a pua using coverup for a zit or two, be careful. he was at a bar, and i think some water splashed on his face. its not important exactly what or how it got there, but the point is, he was gaming some girls and could have used the incident to build comfort and make them laugh....but when he went to wipe it off, he forgot about the shit and it smeared. needless to say, he didnt number close lol. |

As for beeing photogenic - I had th esame problem. try to find some models (male) photoshoots, (seek those with a similar skull-structure) and study the picture - what hight was it taken from? (above/below eyes?) dead-front or sideways? what angle was the head on? how strongly do they smile and whats the effect? (from the "slick" one-sided grin to the teeth show) also, keep your back straight and arms "busy". then grab a cam (not a webcam!!) ut a timer on and take some shoots of yourself with those positions. choose the ones you like best and ask yourself why do you like them now find some HBs or even some guys and practice taking a picture with them You now have a decent photo for facebook |

Good points guys, Regarding the hair... I had it at shoulder length. First cut I got it down to chin length, and it was alright, but still a little extreme. The next cut, I got it down to just below the eyes, and it was pretty decent for a while, but when it started to grow out, I knew I needed a trim... So, the other day, I go into the hairdressers and say I want to get it cleaned up a bit, and they really DID take too much. So, I know that shorter hair does suit me a lot better than the long did, but I feel like it will be sub-par for the next few weeks until I can grow it out enough to do something with it. Regarding the photogenic bit, I have a lot of model and photographer friends, so I'm going to start harassing them incessantly to do shoots with me until we find something that works. The skin is something that is kind of more out of my control.. The color doesn't really bother me, just the dryness, so I think I'll head up to a mall and find a decent moisturizer, it's just such a hassle to put moisturizer on your whole upper body every day... especially the back (which unfortunately is one of the dryest places). I need to find some friendgirls like AFCAdam talked about at the under21convention last year (just watched the videos last night), "Oh, it's just Stellar, let's lotion him up!" -Stellar |
