I go to a high school on the upper east side of manhattan, new york city. Pretty much everyone their either wears nike dunks (which i absolutely despise), or air jordans (a FEW of which I love, but not the rediculous colorful ones they wear at my school). I kind of want to set myself apart from all of these kids, stop wearing basketball sneakers to school, and wear something a little more original. I want to be a little more dressy, but not like lacoste shoes or prada's (lately they've been getting played out as well). So I bought two pairs of diesel shoes for cheap. I was wearing this pair: http://www.genius.ie/images/febshoes_500_b.jpg (except that they were ALL black). One girl noticed and asked how much they were... "Guess." "hmm idn, like 160?" "what?! no way, try again." "200?" i laughed inside. they were 90 bucks. So, does anyone else know any nice casual shoes/sneakers to wear to school? My school is like predominately white (about 90%... we actually have issues with affirmative action). I'm thinking maybe some nice adidas would do to, kind of like these: http://popsportshoes.com/bmz_cache/8/83 ... 50x262.jpg Oh, and i hate pumas, so don't even. What do you guys wear to school? |

I've always worn no-school vans since it's common around this area. But mine are special because I got them in a foreign country. Too bad they're starting to get old and dirty :\. |

I have a bunch of different shoes. Part of my style is having a large variety and changing it up often. I have a pair of Vans Authentics (black/white) a pair of Hemp made Chucks, blue/red Chucks, pair of ADIDAS skate shoes, brown Pumas, ect. I recommend the Authentics though. They are comfortable, look great with a pair of jeans (Some say shorts too, but I can't pull them off with shorts.) and are relatively cheap. |

This is very similar to what I rock: ![]() The only difference being is mine are made of this suede. This gives them a really unusual look and feel that is generally associated with being pricey. They key thing I like about them is they are designer but subtle. Quite a lot of designer brands plaster their name over their items and you look like a moving advert, the subtly of these means when a HB looks real hard she can see they are a good brand. They only cost me £75 (about $130) but people think they are over £200. |

lutecefalco, those are great as well. It's that smart casual look that will turn heads at High school. This sort of look at HS is just perfect: ![]() just add in a necklace like: and shoes like ![]() and you'll be set to go. Oh, and jeans are great but I suggest as a standard a dark blue pair like: ![]() With the jeans, make sure the body of the jeans (before it splits to 2 legs) isn't to long and grips your ass a bit. Baggy jeans look shit, but so do skinny jeans (on 99% of men). and don't forget a decent belt (colour matched to the shoes). |

Dark blue jeans are def the best colour i find. To continue and extend this topic whenever i go out i have a man bag ![]() girls love it i get compliments from them all the time including in clubs and bars. I travel to france often and lots of people have that and brought one back Not many people in england have those so i def get more attention with the bag Watch: these are awsome i love it but beware it gets LOTS of attention i get random people asking me how I can read the time lol but it's a great conversation starter. I have the orange one ![]() Madals picture of Zac Effron is a really good one. Very casual Timberland boots can look cool on some people with boot cut jeans [/img]

as for watches, ![]() thats what I rock. Personally I would avoid anything with plastic, metal or a leather cuff, but again that's because I go for a smart/casual look. If you want really unusual, something like these are awesome:

I just had to respond to the Nooka post. I bought a Nooka watch few weeks ago and you seriously cannot believe the attention, I'm gonna buy another one in yellow. Trust me As for shoes, obviously USA fashion bit different to UK but to see what i'd wear probably either those Fred Perry plimsolls or a Lacoste pair. -Caspa |

Madals, I'm digging the style in the pictures you posted and couldn't agree more with it. I have a leather jacket just like the one in the picture posted and I couldn't be happier with it. |
