Top Shaving Tips

1: Forget everything you know! Lots of lather does not equal a good shave. Foam sitting on top your skin does nothing so move on!

2: Don’t shave as soon as you get up. Have breakfast first. Give your skin a chance to wake up!

3: Ideally, shave in the shower or bath as the steamy environment will help to soften the bristles, making shaving easier. On average it takes 3.5 minutes for stubble to 'wet out' properly making them easier to shave. If you prefer the old fashioned water in a bowl method, ensure you wash your face first with hot water to ensure those bristles are soft.

4: Spend time preparing your skin. Use a deep cleansing non-soapy face wash (K1ST or ASC Face Wash) and alternate twice a week with a scrub (KXF or ASC Face Scrub). Spend a little time massaging your chosen shaving preparation into your face as this again will help to soften and lift the bristles. Water that is 48F or hotter actualy kills spot causing bacteria.

5: Ensure you have a clean sharp blade and shave using short strokes. It’s key to shave in the direction of your hairs' growth – generally speaking this is down on the cheeks and chin and upwards on the neck. If you are at all unsure, run your finger across your stubble to see which direction the hair is growing. Shaving against the direction of hair growth is the primary cause of razor burn, redness and rashes.

6: Rinse the blade regularly as you shave and don’t press to hard against the skin.

7: If using a shaving gel or foam, rinse your face thoroughly with cool water and pat dry (don't rub). If using a King of Shaves shaving oil, simply pat your face dry.

8: Apply a post shave product (KGL Recovery Gel or K24 Moisturiser) to leave your skin feeling smooth, supple and soft - not tight and dry!

9: Et voila! You have completed the perfect shave!

each time I shave I get a massive shaving rash and I can't seem to ever get my rash to go away and i've had it for years I've tryed sensitive shaving foam, creams but nothing works Can anyone help me?

clean my face with what? I put some warm water on my face, put on shaving foam, then shave parts of my face, after each part cleaning the blade in warm water in the sink below me

use really hot water on a face cloth to open up your pores. Afterward, wash your face with lukewarm(not to cold or hot) water to keep your pores from closing to fast and causing rash. also get some after shave moisturizing balm I use Nivea for Men.

use the hot cloth before the shave. Luke warm water afterwards to wash off. than apply the balm. works good

seil - Do you shave with the "grain" or against it or every which way? Also you may want to try an electric shaver.

I use a gilette electric razor. I get the razor burn on my neck only. Any advice on that?
