Post subject:  I need congruence

The reason Mysterys wardrobe succeeds is because he is a magician. The media portrays magicians as wearing darker outfits that have a goth tone to it, through people like Criss Angel. If anyone questions the way he dresses or that he is a magician, all he has to do is perform a couple of magic tricks and he has social proof.

Now I'm a fighter, well I'm training to be a fighter as soon as I am 18. But I dress like I'm a "rebel" or I'm in a band, which I'm not... anymore. I have some Affliction shirts but thats about it. Any tips on improving my wardrobe so I can be more congruent with what I'm going to be?

you wouldn't believe how many MMA wanna-be douchebags i meet on a daily basis. if you're serious into it just dress how you're comfortable, fuck if the style fits you. I grew up in bands, the hardcore scene, i do photography and i'm a huge nerd and yet i dress preppy as hell. really confuses girls

For casual wear you should go for an Ami James look. It is simple and shows of your body.

Do not wear MMA brand clothing. I've trained BJJ in a MMA gym for many years and freaking hate seeing MMA posers in their Affliction shirts. They don't look cool.

How about this instead? Arlovski, Rampage, CroCop, Fedor, Couture, GSP, and Anderson Silva are all some examples of well dressed fighters. Maybe you should study them if you are looking for more congruence in your MMA look.

It sounds like its something you have to figure out for yourself. It's no easy process huh? I mean figuring out who you are. Don't be afraid to change and develop either. With time, your true colours will shine.

Get a nice pair of jeans or two that are well fitting. (by that i mean not loose)

or some REALLY BRIGHT shoes like baby blue and yellow or gold

or go buy new shirts... but that cost more...H&M are great for t-shirts

http://www.kinowear.com/blog/ A really useful site about the image and clothing side to pick up (and life in general I suppose). The forums are also worth a look at.
