I don't remeber how long ago I had problems with eye contact. But now I see it all the time, you get LOADS more respect from people when you can keep a good straight eye contact when you talk to them. You also look more attractive in girls eyes!

One flaw I think I have is that I find it hard to hold eye contact with someone. If I meet the eyes of a girl, my jerk reaction is to look away. Does this display a lack of confidence? How long should eye contact be held for? |

I read an article on eye contact and what i do to practice eye contact with people is whenever i talk to anyone,anyone at all i look directly ito their eyes i don't look anywhere else. I just stare directly into their eyes until they look away. If you have some friends why don't you have a staring contest with them Eye contact when you are talking to someone makes it seem as if they are important and because of that they talk for longer. You could move the power to your side if you use eye contact and she looks away first. It shows you are in control. Practice with anyone you are talking to. |

I've noticed I've had he same problem but luckily for me and you it is quite a simple thing to practice, given it is just looking and not socializing. When walking down the street, driving or whatever I just try to make eye contact with girls (any) and just keep it until they pass. As long as you're consciously thinking "don't break eye contact" it usually isn't a problem and you begin to unconsciously have more eye contact with people. |

Too much eye contact to the point where you are staring at him/her can be a bad thing too. You don't have to stare directly into their eyes the whole time or you are going to freak them out. Proper eye contact includes the eye/nose triangle. Look them in the eyes and then towards the area in between the eyes and nose (eye/nose triangle). That way you are establishing eye contact, but aren't staring them down. Eye contact when you are talking to someone makes it seem as if they are important and because of that they talk for longer. You could move the power to your side if you use eye contact and she looks away first. It shows you are in control. Practice with anyone you are talking to. A technique that also helps is to ask yourself the question, "What color eyes does this person have?" If you don't know then you haven't established enough eye contact. |

I disagree with RSA. It may appear the same but the other person's subconsious will pick up subtle diferences between the eyebrow method and real eye contact. Just practice looking into the other person's eyes. I know you can get better at this and it will improve your game and most other aspects of your life. |

Seriously asking if it shows lack of confidence? Yes it does. It's naturally imbedded into our minds. I've read some research done on females and eye contact. It is always concluded (it very true as it happened to be a couple times), that if you are the first to look away, then the girl will have practically no interest in you. You show that you have submitted to her and she is more powerful. I make it my DUTY to lock eye contact, squint slightly in a Sexy manner, until SHE looks away.. I read that same thing with males.. however I dont give a flying **** about most males (unless I would like to be friends with ) so I hate keeping eye contact because it feels as though I am attracted to them.. which isnt true |

Killians has it right. The best way to keep eye contact is to tell yourself what eye color each person you talk to or walk by has. Its really important. Oozing, keep and hold eye contact with men. Its very important. You want to show that you are the dominant one in the situation as well. I could give examples all day long how it helps me on the sales floor.
