Post subject:  Jeans for someone who wears only khakis.
I tend to only wear khahkis. I would like to have several pairs of jeans, but I'm in no rush to buy them. So I can afford a few really nice ones if necessary. What are good recommendations for jeans that will attract a lot of attention.

Whats your price range? I really like the Buckle's selection of jeans. Its like $60-$120 a pair. Also check out Afliction. I mainly wear jeans from PacSun. 2 pair for $55 is a decet deal, but i go through several pairs a year.

How about ones with lots of zippers, pockets and maybe even a few straps, but no chains? Anyone know where you could get something like that? I've seen some half decent ones, but they always have chains on them and that just doesnt' work with my style.

I have recently become a huge fan of makeyourownjeans.com. I just recently purchased my first pair from there and I will definitely be ordering more. You input your measurements (it tells you how to take them yourself), what kind of denim you want, and what cut (straight leg, boot cut, etc.) and they custom make them for you. It takes about 3 weeks to get them but I was very happy with the result. They look and feel just like some of my more expensive designer jeans but cost only $60... plus they are custom made so they fit better than anything I've worn.

haha, I sound like I work for them but I swear I don't... just really liked the product :D

THose look really cool Duru! How do you go about measuring though for it? Its pretty intense way of finding a fit, but I assume it fits much better than retail clothes. What's the diffrence between different denims?

I have a 36/38 waist with 29 or smaller length. A very odd size, so custom would be nice. Its kind of wild with the crotch size and butt size.


There is also 45 RPMS which are hand woven, hand dipped Jean from Japan which run at miniumum 290. There is a New York Store that sells them. IF I spent that much on jeans I would have to try them on first.

I did a combination of the measurements they tell you how to take on the site and just measuring jeans that fit me well in certain ways. For example, I have jeans that fit me well in the waist and hips but are too long, so I took the waist and front crotch measurements from those. (You don't really even have to put those measurements in actually... it says you can leave them blank, and I did leave the butt size blank) It took me a little bit to get the right measurements, but the final result came out great. I'm actually thinking about dropping by a tailor and having some professional measurements taken so I can have them on hand.

I don't really know a lot about different kinds of denims but I got the cross-hatch dirty wash and to me it looks a lot like the denim used in expensive designer jeans.

There is a Diesel store up in Philly I could check out. From there website it doesn't look like they have 38 waist. ARe you paying for the name or are they hand made like the Japanese ones?

I am thinking about the designer style version with the low back pockets (probably store more stuff in them too) and the crazy stitching.

I really don't know, but I'm sure if you called that store and asked they could answer for you. I've only had the pleasure to window shop for Diesel jeans because they are a bit out of my price range :(

i prefer rock and republic, guess, and seven for all mankinds jeans :)

preferably get a darker wash, as they go with pretty much everything, make sure they fit well, not too long, too short, please dont wear them baggy, but not super tight unless you're tall. generally they bottoms should be about a half inch off the ground with shoes on. crotch of pants should be well...by your crotch lol, not hanging down

dont get tacky jeans with zippers all over them. they dont look good.

i'd also recommend organic or raw denim, girls will notice.

Well dude one point ill make is jeans match wit just about everything. So if your worried your style wont match wit jeans it probly will. I dont know what you look like but slim fit jeans make you look slimmer and i would go wit a dark pair. (i think light color jeans are goin out) But some1 mentioned Buckle and that is where i hav recently been gettin my jeans, may be worth it to you to check out. Good luck finding some jeans hope everything i said you dont alrdy know. 8)

one thing: dont get boot cut or relax fit jeans. i have like 3-4 pair sitting around and they go horribly with my sneakers

regular, slim, strait fit are the way to go.

and, neighborhood, bape, bbc, and evisu jeans are really nice :) although most of them cost $300-600

No slim, can't stand slim jeans. Too tight looking, and constricting the balls causes brain damage! Evisu's are normally relaxed.

Express has great jeans for men- very styling. And while you're in the store it's a great place for PU. If your not bringing a girl with you shopping make sure to get the option of at least three women in the store- best if you can make them fight over which pair looks best. Sometimes it can be hard to find an express that sells men's clothes- I'm sure you can get some online but 95% of the fun in shopping is taking a new date or talking with girls at the mall.
