So I'm pretty much tired of being pasty white 11 months out of the year. There is a local tanning salon that is offering a free 1 week trial. Obviously after my first trip, Im going to be pretty red because Ill be burnt. However, my question is, when should i go back? I plan on doing this until the summer because its easier. However, I was wondering if anyone here knew the procedure about the best way to tan for your first time. |

I tan. a lot. I'll tell you this, never stay in so long you burn. If you're pale, you should probably start with 10 mins at most. Also, use a good bronzer tanning lotion, too. It will help tan faster and protect your skin. It's well woth $20.00 And always, always keep your skin moist with lotion. Especially after you shower. Tanning dries up natural oils in your skin. Moist skin develops a faster, better tan as well. The thing that takes the longest is building up a base. If ou go and burn yourself all the time, you will tan faster. BUT skin cancer is no joke. It's real and can cause blotches on your skin. I developed a thing on my lip called a venous lake. It was caused from tanning. A blood vessel in my lip burst, and dried from the heat. I'm lucky, it very small, and cosmetic, but will cost me $100 to have a doctor remove it. Health insurance doesn't cover it because it's cosmetic. My doctor showed me pics of more serious venous lakes that looked horrible and cost 1000's of dollars to remove. I still have it because it's barely noticeable. BUT had it been larger I'd of been out a few grand or looked pretty gross on the lips. edit: this one is HUGE, too. Protect your face! The skin on your face is very sensitive. I only leave my face exposed for about 5 minutes at the longest. It will, get tan as the rest of your body because it is more sensitive to the UV rays. ALWAYS wear eye protection too! Make sure you tan safe. If not you'll regret it when you are older, because you'll get all wrinkly, like a raisin. |
