I sometimes like to go out wearing alot of blacks whties and reds, sometimes thse will be the only 3 colours on me. i'll wear a red hat, red belt, red shoes, and even red boxers, with a white or grey shirt and black jeans. I'll wear somethign similar if I'm going with a different colour, but I often wonder, if maybe it's a bit excessive. |

I usually match from my head to my toes. My kicks, shirt, hoodies(winter time now), and hats all match. I wear purple, green, blue, black, brown, I have matching colors for everything. During the summer time I even have matching shorts(hats and shoes, I change the shirt to a different color). I don't match my belt and certainly not my underwear. I'll wear somethign similar if I'm going with a different colour, but I often wonder, if maybe it's a bit excessive. I tend to match a lot, I have multiple hats of each color, green, black, purple, blue. I don't wear red too often. Too much takes away. You don't want to over shoot the landing but I also hate being someone who goes everywhere wearing 4 different colors. I like to match because it shows you pay attention to how dress, and that alone makes you stand out. |

Well, generally, I never use more than 3; and that will usually be a combination of neutrals (blacks, whites or greys) and matching colours. Black, white/grey and red together will work fine, especially as you've got two neutrals. The main bulk of your outfit is neutral - black and white/grey, so the red isn't necessarily overkill. Whereas if you had a red t-shirt or jacket on AND a red hat, shoes, belt etc. it probably would be too much red. It also depends on how you're dressing - if you're going slightly smarter, I would go with less of the red. Think Don Corleone in the Godfather - black and white tux, but the single flash of red with the rose lapel stands out and looks awesome. Whereas if it's more casual, bringing more of the red in looks absolutely fine. |

Definitely not my area of expertise but the first step to having style is wearing clothes that FIT YOUR BODY. As for colors there are some general rules I think apply. This is in no way exhaustive, just common sense things off the top of my head. 1) Only wear one pattern (i.e. no mixing pin stripes with argyle) 2) Go for color contrasts (i.e. black leather jacket, off-color v-neck, black pants) 3) Don't wear same colored layers (i.e. gray sweater over gray v-neck). 4) With the exception of black and white, you should rarely blend darks and lights. Anyways that's all I can really think of. Again I am no authority on this stuff. Just kind of have an eye for it. |
