Post subject:  Fine Tuning: Peacocking
At this point in my career I figure I can handle it when an AMOG criticizes me on my peacocking attire, whether it be just a little too stylish for him or completely out of the ordinary. There are ways to turn that one back around on that guy.
My question is, how do you respond when an HB asks you "Why the hell are you wearing X," or "Why are you and all your friends dressed so wierdly/etc." I have no solution for this, because of course the real answer is that the get-up is for her and her friends. What is the best response when asked to explain peacocking?

Me: "The question you should be asking is, why shouldn't I be?"
HB: plays along or doesn't play along, doesn't matter, just say

"Haven't you ever wanted to just do something spontaneous and fun? Well that's what I'm doing...and hey look at me, I'm having a blast!"

Hmmm... I'm not sure about that. Seems you would be trying to
justify yourself to her.

Wouldn't "You're attracted to me" also work? I know the girl is
trying to DLV you instead of compliment you but...

Anyway, these statement/response questions are fun. I'll throw
down some ideas.

HB: Why the hell are you wearing X
You: [point at some random guy] Because I didn't want to look like that weirdo.


HB: Why the hell are you wearing X
You: I'm homeless. Can you spare some change for a vodka tonic? :)

HB: Why the hell are you wearing X
You: I'm glad you like it!
Or: Thanks for noticing
Or: I'm glad you're jealous

HB: Why the hell are you wearing X
You: Why the hell are you so attracted to me right now? :)

HB: Why the hell are you wearing X
You: [Ignore her question. She just opened you. Continue as normal]
