Post subject:  Wearing a Hat????

I'm just wondering what the general attitude is towards wearing baseball hats if your trying to sarge...If im going out with intentions on sarging, then obviously im not going to wear a ball cap...

What im talking about are the times where my hair is too long, and I dont have time for a cut, when I go out to do things and I see a girl I want to sarge, is it ok to go for it, even though im wearing a baseball hat to cover my head

It's always ok to go for it man!

Personally I very rarely wear baseball caps anymore... I have a cowboy hat that I get alot of postive feedback from (in my Avatar), and a Fedora that I also wear... Hats can be a great peacocking item if you have the right one.

But just because your not looking 100% doesn't mean you have to act like it! ... also one way to alleviate anxiety from not looking your good (in your mind), is to just make sure you look presentable at all times in public.

I think baseball caps are just too average and not very groomed looking with one on. I say you just get an interesting hat. Something similar to a ballcap, but made from felt and slightly different shaped is even cool. But go check out a hat store, they've got all sorts of wicked things in a good one.

Baseball caps are bad. End of story.

If you must wear a hat (it kills your hair-peacocking opportunities), it has to be something a little more... Out there. Huge pimp hats are fun. Cowboy hats are good, especially in strange colors. A sombrero is also nice, and keeps you shady.

The only time you're allowed to wear a cap from now on is when it perfectly matches the rest of your gear. Wearing nothing but white and you have a pristine white cap? Go nuts. Otherwise, leave it for when you don't want to attract women.

I kind of have good luck with hats. They just seem to go with my style and the way my hair grows. I have a corduroy baseball hat with a mesh back and I actually get positive comments on it. But what hair your wearing depends a lot on what else you have on, and what the situation/weather is. For example, a few days ago: Courd hat, tight red t-shirt, dark jeans, black sneakers (one with white laces), a black band on one wrist, and a yellow band on the other wrist. Today: Dark jeans, aviators, black beanie, silver analog watch on my left, black band on my right, black jacket, black/white converses. I would never wear a baseball hat with that second one. Nor would I ever wear the fedora with the first. Hats can be pulled off, it, like anything else, is all about attitude and how it's done.

thanks guys for the input...the hats I have right now are just a flexfit white yankees hat, and a flexfit blue chicago bears hat...i only wear either when I just cant go out with my hair cuz its bad...I definately try and match it with my other attire, however I still feel like the hats optional approach is the way to go...but I guess if i can gain enough confidence than wearing a hat shouldnt be that much of a negative

If you know your hair is bad, then don't cover it up with a hat, cause that hat is coming off at some point. Fix the hair. If that means you need to shave it off, then do that. If it means you need to dye it, then do that. If it means you need to spend $20 on a haircut, do it, just get it fixed, or its gonna hurt you. Being well groomed is a trait of an alpha male.

Take me for instance. Until I was about 20, I had amazing hair. Women LOVED my hair. All the girls in my family were jealous at how thick and curly it was and told me girls were gonna love it. Girls would run their fingers through it and moan. Hairdressers would comment on it and do the same. It was my ONLY physical vanity. My dad has had a bald spot on the crown of his head for as long as I can remember, at least since I was 4 and I would bug him about it and he would tell me it would happen to me too. But told him no and made more fun. Guess what happened sometime in my 20th year? Yeah, I'm losing my hair, at 20. I'm 22 now, I haven't lost much more and most people that aren't observant wouldn't notice it much anyways, but its not the thick lusciously curly hair that wome once moaned about. Its thinning and receding and I'm gonna end up with one of those culdisacs, with a tuft in the center, like some attempt at fancy road construction, but on my fucking head! I nearly cried, hell I may have and I blocked it out, I was attached to that stuff man! I used to dye it all sorts of colours and twirl it all day in class. Now...I shave it on the lowest setting on a beard trimmer. Its so short its got that prickly feel to it. Now girls love to run their hands over my head again and moan. It isn't the same and I still feel pretty sad whenever I see one of those old pics, or see some guy with great hair, but I made the best of a shitty situation and turned it to my advantage. I have a well shaped head and chicks think it looks hot and very mature and strong.

So, that's my hair problem. What's yours? What is wrong with it, what can be done to fix it? There's ALWAYS something to be done to fix it. So figure that out and take care of it. You'll feel confident every time you look in the mirror and run your fingers through that hair, or have a girl run her fingers through it (or the lack of it if that's the answer). If you need any help figuring it out, let us know, we're here to help and some of us, myself included know a thing or two about hair.

Ya you got some really good points in there...and Ill admit my bad hair situation is not as bad I think it is, however the reason I cant really fix it b/c Im growing it into a nice flow...the only problem with a flow, is that theres a bad hair stage in the process of a growing a really nice one...so basically until its long and nice enough, I dont really have a choice but to wear a hat

i'm the same way
last night i was hanging out w/ a girl (i didn't really have any intentions of picking up) and she kept trying to take my hat *texas longhorns baby* and wear it so i'd take it off of her head and told her that she couldn't undress me in public and well yeah it worked
