Post subject:  How to stay updated in Fashion trends.

Hi guys,
Let me tell you a quick story from my past. As you seen, when I was in middleschool, I wasted almost 5 years without even caring about my look. I actually had long hair and you could consider me as the type of skaterguy.

This changed, when I went to London in my 5th year (you have 6 years of middleschool before you go to college) I accidently got a fashion book from somewhere before we left the city. What happend? I read the book and somehow I got interested in it, it looked all so good. I was actually one of the first that knew that purple would be the color of Summer 2010!

Ok, so now you think, why we care about that story, your title is complete different. So after googling a lot I found some interesting sites which can help you update your fashion sense (trends, do and don't,...)

Some good sites :
- Askmen - they are really good, also a nice general man site aswell. They are also good for night-game wear

- BeStylish - it's a blog, but the writer is good
- FashionBeans - I like this site a lot, they update very often)
- GQ - what more to say?
- Google : just press something like "Men Fall/Winter 2011" and you will get some nice results

(If you have more sites, please be welcome to post them in the comments)

But that doesn't mean you can only find stuff on the internet.
Just go to a famous store in your city (H&M, Jack & Jones, ...) and just look at the models or posters they have, they change the models very often , in terms of season and trends. Also , most stores have some lookbooks available for the people there and if you still have doubt, why don't you just ask the workers? They are there to help you ;)

For example , I could tell people from spring that the fashiontrend in the summer would be the rolled up pants (I've seen it a lot when I was in Barcelona). Now for fall, the turtleneck is in!

So you got a ton of information now, just look at those sites once in a week, read some articles you like and save some pictures about outfits you like.

Now , this doesn't mean you have to update your wardrobe. Sometimes you can make nice combo's with the clothes you already have! Color combinations can help a lot here.

Anyway, maybe you guys think now, why are you all saying this? Well after I fixed my appearance (Better fashion sense, changed my hairstyle, ...) it was a lot easier for me to approach girls and make them attracted to me! Lets say it's some kind of updating yourself.

I hope you guys liked this post. English ain't my motherlanguage but I'm trying the best I can.

Or make your own style and don't follow the trends? As long as you can dress well it doesn't matter if it's in fashion.

Then again, I'm more into the alternative/rock/goth scene and usually get told I dress like a rockstar :P Though I stand out and always get complimented on my hair and clothes. I actually do better in 'normal' clubs because I stand out so much more.

Following trends = fitting in = Going unnoticed.

Last time I went to a club, practically every guy in there was wearing blue jeans, smart shoes and a check shirt. I stood out like a sore thumb but within 10 minutes of being in there I'd been approached by 2 girls, then later that night, a 3 set.

In my opinion: Look good: yes. Blend in, no.
