The issue I'm currently facing, a week before I go back to university is firstly that I'm not exactly a confident dancer, and given that that's alot of what goes on on student nights out, I'm abit uneasy about that. I mean, in my first year I had that you'd get talking to a girl through whatever opener and keep a decent conversation, but then, eventually, will ask if I want to dance. Here I end up torn between spending more time with her to continue the work prior but risk having it all for nil when I flail my arms and whatnot, out of time and tune. Is there some advice around to avoid this sort of a situation? It's more an issue when she's in a mostly girl set and they want to go dance, and I haven't split her from the group yet. The second part to what I'm not looking forward to is that Freshers' Week, the first week or two of the new year, is full of guys peacocking and being flamboyant, so the question here has become whether to still peacock for myself, which wouldn't be as outrageous as other guys, or not, as this would be doing what the other guys are doing, which isn't what I want to be doing. So to sum; should I dance if I can't dance? - maybe take lessons, what kind? should I peacock when its the norm? Thanks in advance, -Ciroc x |

Ok you are beyond over thinking this. Yes during the first weeks of school guys will be hitting on women like crazy. It happens. But does that mean you shouldn't try to stand out? Of course not. Now Peacocking for me isn't a big ass furry hat and what not but just a unique necklace, watch, shirt, etc. As for the dancing. Just have fun with it. If you feel like you're insecure she will see that in you and will probably find the next guy. However if you're confident and having fun she will see that and enjoy herself much more... Besides chances are she will be shit faced at a first party of the year so relax. If you want to learn to dance look up youtube videos, get DVDs, find a partner to dance with, etc. for some tips. Thanks for the reply Serj, I had considered those candy necklace and watches as I live near a candy store. Definitely am overthinking it but it's the sort of thing I get in my head in-field. I guess chances are she just wants to dance to burn off energy which is a good sign of things maybe to come. I guess being in a new city they'll be actively wanting to meet new people who seem friendly and open, so it's a sellers Market and definitely shouldn't overthink it so much. Thanks man, - Ciroc x |
