This is going to take a while to get answered all the way down in this section, but here it goes. I really hate my voice, it sounds whiney and feminine when I listen to it recorded. So that's my situation and I know it won't keep me from getting girls, but how should I handle this? |

Voice/speech lessons can help you in so many ways regardless, even if your being over critical of your own voice (BTW most people that don't hear their own voice regularly, hate their voice) |

Yeah, I definitely know the part in parentheses is true. I looked up some voice exercises that I've been practicing and I hope will help, but do you think it would be worth it to get a professional? Any idea on cost?

I wanna say they're somewhere around 40-50$/lesson, for most people I would take a few, they'll show you some things, take some time and practice and if you need take another few. |

You *may* just be overreacting. Personally, I hate the sound of my own voice. I cringe when I watch home videos, or listen to recordings. But, I've been complimented on my voice many times. I have a theory. Anytime you see a constant problem with something, and continue to improve that thing, it usually turns out better than other people. If we weren't vain, we wouldn't look good. If we didn't think our voices sucked, we wouldn't make our voices sound desirable. I spent about 4 years working on the voice I have now. Most of it though, isn't how I sound. It's the way I speak. |
