Ok, the search engine sucks. Here's why: First, when you type in multiple words, the engine spits out results that have both OR EITHER of the words. For example, I keep searching "breaking rapport", and even if I put the phrase in quotes, it gives me all the most recent posts on rapport. Second, the engine sorts by most recent posts--->least recent posts. This is obviously terrible for finding things, since a billion newbies in a week talk about rapport, completely burying any of the useful threads I want to search for in the lounge. Improvements: Fix it so that both words must appear in the post to qualify as a search results, and then order the posts by relevance as opposed to chronology. I admit, the problem is solved easily if you just use google as your search engine, so an embed of that would be much more useful than what we have now. That's another possible solution. |

If you don't like the forum's search engine, use google. A simple query like: Code: site:www.pick-up-artist-forum.com "breaking rapport"
will get what you want from google, bypassing the forum search engine. I looked at the robots.txt file, and there is nothing blocking the public forums. As far as sorting, you'll get the most popular topics, as selected by google's search algorithm first. Only god and google know how that works.... |

Thank you, I realized this later... So honestly, I should correct my question to a suggestion: Why don't we use a google embed as our search engine? That would make things more efficient. |
