Post subject:  Growth problems? Looking too young? Need solution.

Hi guys,

I've posted on this forum before about low testosterone and stuff, (it appears my testosterone is normal) BUT I still have a problem.

I've posted this message on a bodybuilding forum, they couldnt help me, I sure hope you guys have some answers:

Dear bodybuilders,

For a while now I'm having the same problem. Although I'm now almost 25 years old I'm looking extremely young, say 17/18. I never really thought about it much, it always seemed to me I would eventually 'grow'. But I didn't. Now I want a solution. I thought maybe my testosteron was too low, but I went to the doctor and I had it tested and it was fine. (But now I'm thinking, maybe it's fine NOW, but what if it wasn't fine when I was supposed to grow?) Here are some of my 'symptoms' :
No facial hair (although since this year I'm getting some spastic hairs now and then, is there still hope?)
Very thin legs, wrists
I'm short
No chesthair etc
Very young looking face, thin bonestructure or something like that
I may have a light form of gyno

So there it is. What can I do about this? I've thought about this a lot.
Could it be I've not been getting enough testosteron during my puberty? Or too much estrogen?

I'm working out a lot these days, to compensate with muscles.

So what do you guys think I can do about this? Any suggestions are welcome!

The best thing you can do is to provide your body with as good an incentive to grow and mature as possible.
I believe you can get to this best through diet and exercise.

So check out the vid on top, and try to read up on possible diets, such as paleo or others high in protein.

I'm no endocrineologist or advanced exercise scientist but my guess is you need to EAT. Train 3-4 days a week with big, heavy compound exercises and eat a diet high in protein and starchy carbs with some healthy fats thrown in. the BBW is spot on with recommending the paleo diet; eat clean, eat big, and lift big and you'll fill out. If you need a workout to try, check out Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 or Joe DeFranco's Westside for Skinny Bastards. Good luck man!

Go out there and live life man!!!

I have always looked younger that I am.
When I was 18 I looked 15, when I was 21, I looked 17, when I was 23 I looked 19.

The past year I had so much shit going on in my life:
-Starting a new work
-Traveling around the world
-Dating the girl of my dreams
-Being rejected merciless (well, not quite) by the girl of my dreams
-Took some bussines starting classes
-Going to the gym 20 hours per week
-Getting my first one night stand
-Moving out of home
-To another city

Now I look at pictures and I can tell that my face has grow 2 to 2.5 years older in a timespan of 1 year.
I don't know, but I think there's some psychology in growing up, maybe you need to mature in experiences and your body will catch up.

Thanks for the replies.

@ Brometheus thanks yeah eating and training will probably help, I'm doing that, always been doing it a little but never consistent. Now I have 4 months of free time so I can get serious with it.

@ big bad wolf thanks for the vid I'll check it out.

@ jabmaster that's some advice that I've never heard before, though it kinda seems like logic. I'm living life, and I'm about to travel the world 4 months haha, so maybe that'll help too.

It's more the lack of defined bonestructure and the facial hair though.
Contacted my doctor again this morning about my testosteron and stuff, they had some expert look at it so I'll be waiting for the results.

Look up minoxidil

this will help ALOT with facial hair. I sort of have a younger face as well and short hair makes me look older but I recommend trying minoxidil. Although its meant for hair loss on the head it gets results with facial hair.

Thanks ptown.

I've looked it up, curious about it. Have you got any experience with it yourself?
Will it also work if there's almost no facial hair at all or will it just make the occasional existing hairs grow faster?

A lot of it is genetics. I am 24 and have looked basically 17 since I was 17. Although recently with the help of the gym bulking me up and wearing a more stubbly look I look more like 18. :D The way you dress and act also makes a difference.

But seriously just don't let it bother you. As with anything about your appearance that you can't change, just embrace it and make it who you are. I think you end up looking better / more confident when you accept yourself and are happy with who you are. I've seen some short, tubby guys who were great with women just because they didn't let their shortcomings bother them.

My sister also is older than me but looks like she's still 17, and from looking at pictures of my parents, it wasn't until they were about 30 that they started to look like they're in there 20s. It's not a bad thing; they're both approaching their 60s soon and look like they're in their 30s.

Let me get this straight... you look like you're a late teen despite being in your mid twenties. Meaning you're more likely to be able to pick up girls in the 18-20 age bracket than other men your age. And you're complaining about this?!

Looking young is only really a disadvantage in school. From there on, it's awesome.

Post subject:  Eat

You must force yourself to eat and when your full you must eat more. Only do this if you are hitting the gym hard.

In college I went from 175 to 215 in two years without adding much fat and doing it without steroids.

Eating and having a fuller face with a bigger body will make you appear older and improve your sex life.
