Hey everyone, I'll try my best not to tell my life story in this post and cut to the chase as quickly as possible, I just want to give you the best understanding of my question. I have only recently discoverd the world of pick-up and it has dramaticly changed my life! Its helped me develop my inner confidence and in such a short time I've already developed a social circle of attractive fun girls that are begging me to come out with them more often. I am completley confident and comfotable with going out and not drinking and having a good time. For health and wealth reasons not drinkinng can be obviously beneficial, and also impairing your judgment and missing oppurtunities. The only real problem is people NEGing you for not drinking I ussualy neg them back and make them laugh if I can but I'd love to get some tips on going out and not drinking like non-alcoholic drinks/water...etc without lowering your value but raising it!! I'm going to assume that other guys out there have had this problem? I'd love to know some tips or any one who can share their experience in this area? |

I either ignore their stupid comments, or reply back with " I've been on atibiotics" or now days I say it's something because of training related, I'm in decent shape now, often get asked to I swim etc, so I just waffle crap, because really it's small talk, so don't take it seriously!

Yeah thats true cheers guys, yeah your right it is just small talk and when talking to a stranger who deosnt know me I dont have to worry about it as much, but what about friends or other people that your out with E.G. A couple of girls text me saying to come over to their place for pre-drinks (Alcoholic) and then go out to a bar, club or party and one of them asks why I'm not drinking or hassels me. Once again I am aware I'm worrying a little too much but its just a small section of my life I'd like to get handeled though I do enjoy a good splash of the dizzy water. |

I wouldn't make stuff up just to give them an understandable reason that you know isn't true as it will indirectly make you feel like you have to lie to fit in with them. Also if people are with you and they know you don't drink because it is a conscious decision, but they hear you lying because you don't want to say the real reason. Surely that lowers value and has a more negative impact. I understand the problem as you can't say "I don't drink because I'm running game on the girls in here" but you could still say something that is similar and true, something that will make you feel like you believe in why you don't drink "I do drink, just not as much as you, I end up making a fool of myself" Something like that could make them laugh and agree with you, could be taken as a put down makeing you look more dominant. But more importantly it is something you believe and stand by. Good luck may man! |

Yeah you are right but it does depend on how it is said and why. I meant it to be said a bit cocky, as if your almost poking fun at them because they drink until they make fools of themselves. I didn't want it to be put across as it being said like I can't drink because I always make a fool of my self.Sometimes I just say "I don't need to drink all the time to have fun" I hope you understand what I'm saying, always harder to put it across over the internet. Thanks man and I liked your line, it works and is simple |

Cheers guys, this was my first post and I'm glad to see it got a response soo quickly, I'm already getting a good impression from the forum! like I said before its not a huge issue but for anyone that does want to cut back on the alcohol in their game and life its helpful to come back to stuff like this, I especially like "I don't need to drink all the time to have fun" that resonated well with me. If anyone else wants to contribute more to this be my guest. |

When I have something important to do the next day I try to cut back or not drink at all My advice, if you aren't drinking alcohol, at least drink something along the lines of a coke or something, most people will assume you are drinking it with rum or whatever :p (the benefit: the girl will assume you are both drinking and are getting a little tipsy) |

For the most part not drinking is a DHV. I have one buddy in particular who is bad about this. Last week I kept saying things that eluded to him trying to get me drunk and take advantage of me. He DLV himself to death and made me look awesome.

Hey just for the record just to give back practical feedback, tonight was the second time I've been out without drinking and it's been suprisingly fine in terms of feeling comfort (Confidence) and if anything I feel more confident, and any comments I've gotten about not drinking, I've been able to use them as toys of conversation and play with them easier, And just focusing on personal comfort and a relaxed state of mind wherever I am helps alot in terms of just general conversation. But Still I've got soo much work to do to get where I want to be with women. Cheers guys. |

Nice! When everyone else is out of control from dunkeness it is the easiest to be the leader. Sometimes I do get chicks saying "Are you out here trying to pick up drunk chicks?" I always say "I just don't need to get hammered to have a good time. I guess it would be nice to find a girl who feels the same way, now that you mention it?"
But Still I've got soo much work to do to get where I want to be with women. Cheers guys. |

I've had to deal with my own self-image about not drinking recently. In my case, lately my guts have been telling me, don't drink. I cut out coffee and tea earlier this year, drastically reduced my sugar intake, and am eating 2 mangoes a day because they seem to help. I've been pretty damn serious about this stuff, so I've decided it's time to get serious about the drink too. I am mostly a social drinker anyways, but one night last week I had 4 pints in 5 hours. That's a lot of booze for me, and I didn't feel all that great the next day. I can't even think about going out to drink again the next night, the thought is revolting. So I said that's it, it's time to implement the mineral water plan. If it makes me look like a Girly Man so be it. I put that plan into effect on Friday night. Nobody bugged me about it. I was sitting around at a crowded bar drawing an oil pastel something-or-other. I got IOI from a few women but it was extremely noisy, some of them were with crowds, and I wasn't going to stop my drawing for it. Figure I'll come back on a night when it's not so crazy loud. I ended up drinking 2 cans of purified seltzer water and a bag of potato chips. My bar bill was all of $6 with tip, compared to the $25 I had spent the other night. That's a good motivator right there, I don't mind saving the bucks. Only problem is after 2 cans of water, I definitely didn't want any more, and I was tired of drawing too. So I went home. One good drawing, some IOIs, and not messing up my guts is a moral victory as far as I'm concerned. Having faced my own battle with my drinking self-image, now I don't feel inclined to put up with any guff from anyone about it at all. I don't need to be humorless about it, but I'm a man who makes his own decisions for his own reasons. I value my guts more than I value anyone's social image. I did suck down a 22 oz. bottle of Belgian beer at home on Saturday night. It didn't seem to affect me too badly. I can justify that because it's a much higher quality beer than I usually get going out and about. Also I'm not making a huge habit of it. So it's not that I don't drink, I'm just not going to drink any more than I personally care to. |
