Whenever i go for a jog on my treadmill i get rather bored, i feel i need to occupy myself when i do. I can only last around 10 minutes, not because im tired or somewhat, its because im bored.

Whats the best way to keep yourself occupied and jogging?

Change the sport then. You gotta do something more dynamic.Seems like you're doing the same shit over and over again without fixed short term purposes.

I've been running for ten yrs now (23 yrs old) and there are days when it gets boring. I mainly run outdoors, even in the Northeast where it gets pretty cold, but I have a few ideas that may help.

1) Start running outdoors if possible. If you get bored easily, parks that have cross country or mountain biking trails will keep your mind occupied because there are numerous turns and elevation changes as well as small trail width which just causes your mind to be on higher alert so as not to hit anything. Running in your neighborhood or at a track can even be more engaging than a treadmill.

2)For a treadmill, you could watch TV while you run.

3) Also for a treadmill, you could do a fartlek type workout where you vary intensities throughout the run. For example, usually I'll do 20-25 mins where I start out the first 5 mins with a warm up on a lower intensity setting, then at around 6 mins I'll add elevation for two mins. At 8 min I lower the incline to zero and recover on the previous low intensity setting for a minute or 2. At around 10 min, increase the speed of the treadmill and then in another min raise the incline again. Lower the incline after 2 mins. Repeat the process for as many times as you want until you finish

Hope this helps, let me know if you need any clarification

I would suggest doing other types of cardio, if your running on the treadmill, text, watch t.v. a movie, listen to music that PUMPS you up or run with a friend outside.
