I am 6' 5" and have an athletically toned body but like you have a bit of a gut.

This is my own fault....drinking to much alcohol and no way near enough exercise.

I am fairly lucky as I have a high metabalism so can shift weight fairly rapidly. I was told to simply make sure you eat breakfast, dinner and tea on a regular time each day and do lots of cardio work outs, i go swimming, bought a road bike and do sit ups before i go to bed every night. after 2 weeks you will be amazed. Was hard for me not to touch alcohol, I just have to keep telling myself pubs and bars arent going anywhere and after a few months I will feel great.

Just stick to a routine and you will notice results.

I agree with Mason. What people don't understand is that the most important part of fitness is diet. Without a DECENT diet even the most athletic people won't be as lean as they like. Start by eating healthy, then do some kind of exercise 3-4 times a week and you should be off to a good start.
