Post subject:  Big guys: Do you bulk or slim?

I am a naturally big guy. I am strong but have high body fat and lots of it is quite stubborn. I've tried cutting seriously, but the stubborn fat remains. I am thinking I may just have to live with, never getting six packs and instead embrace my body type and bulk up instead. I get big and strong easily and some girls like that, though most seem to prefer slim, athletic over that.

What do you guys do? Do you diet rigorously or do you put on muscle instead?

I am not sure if you have ever heard this. Without a proper diet you wont go anywhere. In the gym are you doing cardio? If you aren't, you should be and you should be be doing interval training ( HIIT ) Also with the proper supplements you can make even better progress. Its hard to stick with everything 100% but once you start seeing changes you wont want to stop. If you want to know a really good program and supplement routine let me know.

Hey homie, it's badass that you are trying to work on your physical health. But the REASONING behind it is what's important in keeping you consistent and fulfilled.

You should forget about what OTHERS think you should do and think what type of body do you want. At some point, i wanted to be chiseled, but i realized it's simply too worrisome. I then realized, darwin; survival of the fittest. I can have a healthy lifestyle, without having to count calories. I'm only saying this because maybe it will give you an idea of what i mean.

I want to lift heavy ass shit, for at least a somewhat functional amount of reps(more emphasis on strength), i want to also have a healthy heart and good cardiovascular health(i gotta stop smoking pot, once a week but still), and i want to be able to lift my own body weight, because i think it's sad when a fat man can lift 500 pounds, but can't do 10 pushups, a 1 min plank, or run for 5 min.

Just think what YOU find attractive goals, and as everyone in this community will agree with, it's about INNER game more so than OUTER.

I have my own question, don't mean to highjack but it' so the same topic.

I'm of the impression that MOST girls want someone with lower enough body fat % for visible abs. In terms of survival and protection, this doesn't make sense in terms of our "hardwiring". I know plenty of males who eat awful food and just have fast metabolisms and because of their low body fat %, they are viewed as "healthy".

Someone who ate nutritious food(i'm not talking about because it says fat free it must be healthy...i'm referring to an educated lifestyle of nutrition that cuts through the advertising bullshit), who's strong as a brick wall in all movements(bench is at 355, squat at 405 and deadlift at 440...i weigh 192 lbs 5'6), and who can run 2-3 miles seems to me to be MORE "healthy". I know that PUA mainly utilizes our evolved hardwiring, and it gets me thinking how the ideal male body type became that way? One can say advertising, but as mass media advertising is so new compared to how long we've been a species, i'd think our hardwiring would override what a certain few people at some point "thought" was healthy and desirable.

Any thoughts?

Are you a endomorph?

The test is to wrap your index and thumb finger on one of your hands around your
wrist on your opposite other hand if the fingers do not touch youre a endomorph if the just touch your a meomorph and lucky if they touch with room to spare then your an ectomorph and probaly skrawny.

Now just put your hand in front of your face and....just kidding!

Honestly man, people of all sizes can get awesome at seduction so it doesn't matter too much.

I'd recommend lifting and getting some badass arm muscles if you can't lose belly weight.

Personally that's what I did.

Now I'm slimming down - on a new diet with more berries/fruit and no bread/brain - http://www.therealmind.com/healthiest-diet-to-eat

Wll to be honest do what feels good, and look how you want to look.

Diet and exercise is key, if you want to slim and keep lean, have a regular eating diet around 5-6 meals a day with few snacks. Low carbs (try to keep carbs pre training) eat alot of protein and add around 15-20 mins of on-off high intensity cardio around 3 times a week after your weight and ab sessions. You will see results.

Stay off soft drinks too!

I 6'2" @ 235, used to be 272.

I used to go for bigness, but it just made me look huge, and intimidating. I'm not a fan of being buck like that. It's initimidating to some women, and sexy to othrs. I've found more that it's the primer more than the former.

Just take a good luck at your workout/diet. I realized I was lying to myself, and basically dieted good mon-fri, then ate shit sat-sun. I've since kept my diets mon-sun strict. I cheat every 2 weeks. Since then I've kept EVERYTHING else the same. That is when I dropped from 272 to 235. The first 3 weeks of this diet sucked, but after that it was 2nd nature. It's about how bad you want it.

I want every competitive edge I can get out in the field. Smash on the meat heads by being as close as them body wise, but having the edge personality/intelligence wise. Basically revenge of the nerds.

I'm 6'3", used to be 265 lbs., now I'm down to 200 lbs after about six and a half months of exercise (cardio only, running 3mi on the treadmilll almost daily) and counting calories religiously since December.

When I reach my goal weight of 192, I'm starting P90X while eating at maintenance levels, to improve muscle definition. I'm going for strength, not bulk.

I am naturally big. I focus on slimming, but also steadily increase my strengt.

5x25, "normal", doable weights. Once I master 5x25 on a certain weight level, I increase my weight. Started with 25s on each side (95lbs), to 45s (135lbs), and building slowly. My goal by years end is 90lbs on each side (2 45s, equaling 225lbs for 5x25).

It's my style. I like this workout.
