Ok i had P90X, as I was bootlegging it on the size. I can say that yes it does work. If you FOLLOW the system to the letter, you can see results in a few weeks. That being said, what you should know is what it's best used for.

1) It cuts the fuck out of body fat - The reason for this is that you are on a calorie restricted diet while on the program. Plus you do a some type of fat burning exorcises every day.
2) It gives you a lean muscle build - Under that 18% body fat, you have muscle right. So once you cut it down your muscles show. The insane amount of push ups and pull up you do will give you definition.

If you want muscle growth, this isn't for you. If your trying to get into shape and get the beach body they talk about then I say go for it.

I know people that have gotten results using this. The ones that get the most use out of it add it to their current workout.

Hope this helps

Man I've attempted the 90 day program 3 times so far. Its very difficult, but its just one of those things that u keep doing until you get it. I get farther with each time I try. As for getting ripped, hell yeah. I had washboard 8 pak abs within weeks of doing it. The 15 min ab ripper x is insanely intense. Biggest problem for me is the cost of the diet. I threw together a diet of my own based off of the program's diet. Not as effective, but it gets me where I need to be.

I know a buddy of mine that does it. He likes it a lot but it is pretty intense.

If you are just beginning, he doesn't recommend it. You need to build yourself up to the P90X workout, otherwise you can hurt yourself. And for some people, the changing of diet aspect is pretty difficult.

My routine is a mixture of weight training, aerobic exercise (running, biking, ellipse, etc.), Yoga and Pilate without dramatically changing my diet. I work out only 3 days a week but I get a good workout in it. Rest days are very important to my body.

If you insist on the P90X workout, gradually work your way up to the program. If you try to just jump in head first you might get overwhelmed and quite too soon before the program can be effective.

Best,

J-Dub

Question:

Can the P90x Program be done in a normal gym ? I already pay for a membership and I go to my local gym 5 times a week. I'm thinking of switching over to the P90x program - I've been doing the Ab Ripper X video for a while as my Ab workout anyway, but would like to try the whole package.

They say you can do the stuff at home following the DVD with a basic Pull-Up Bar + some Dumbells - so I should be able to do it in the gym. Obviously though I won't be able to watch the DVD whilst I'm in the gym, so what should I do ?

Watch the DVD to learn the technique & then take notes into the Gym to remind me what to do ?

Cheers.

yeah pretty much dude. There's really no point of going to the gym at all other than the pullup bar and free weights (assuming you have neither).
I do the program at home with a pullup bar and resistance bands.
I guess you should try to write down some exercises and try to follow the same routine in the gym.
