Hey, i'm just wondering when working out what do you usually listen to, to help to be motivated? i've been going gym for a couple of weeks now, but i'm struggling to find good music to listen to that gets me ready to work out! |

I go for songs that pump me up but also make me feel good psychologically. Some of the stuff I like to listen to: Feeder: Buck Rogers, Just a day, Lost and found Linkin Park: Numb, In the end All american rejects: It ends tonight Faith no more: Epic Plus many many others |

There is a load of DMX's songs which are perfect. Try: We Right Here X Gonna Give It To Ya Party Up Give 'Em What They Want I find that I have to keep changing my playlists as it is easy to get bored of the same songs during a workout. Also try "Breathe" by Fabolous |

although i am not a hip hop fan, eminem and fort minor are exceptions at the gym. i have an iphone which has an app called pandora that generates a playlist from a certain genera of music. the ipod touch can get it too i think. i highly recommend investing in one if you plan to lift or drive a lot. also, try not listening to music at all. ive been lifting consistently for over 6 years now, and up until about 2 months ago i didnt lift with music at all. and ive never lifted with a partner. it helps me become less distracted and makes me go to the gym purely to lift, not as a source of entertainment. to some that is far too boring though. specially when your on a cardio machine. for cardio sessions i recommend comedy believe it or not. get some dane cook or chris rock or larry the cable guy type stuff. you will get lost in the jokes and time will fly by |
