| Post subject: | How to Eat Eggs from a Shot Glas AND Get Maximum Nutrition |
From: http://thedreamlounge.blogspot.com/2009 ... d-get.html (click here for additional links in the article) There is a lot of confusion surrounding eggs. So it's known, whole eggs are one of the most nutrient packed foods you can eat, especially if your into body building/strength training. Not only are they the perfect protein (the standard all other foods are compared to actually, even meat), but they also contain something called Arachidonic acid, which is great for building muscle. Some people see old Rocky movies and think the best way to eat them is entirely raw (which is nothing short of disgusting and unhealthy). Others think egg yolks are the quickest route to a heart attack (when in fact they have been show to IMPROVE cholesterol levels and heart health). For the record, from what I've researched, the best way to eat an egg, is soft boiled. Check it out. <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GnXWmo8AGVU&hl ... ram> Why soft boiled? Well basically, raw egg whites contain digestive inhibitors and anti-nutrients, things that need to be cooked before consuming (otherwise they do what they say, mess up digestion and nutrient absorption). What is soft boiled? Basically letting the egg hit boiling, and then letting it simmer for about 3 minutes. The white will be sufficnetly cooked, and the yolk will be left mostly raw. Why not cook the yolk? (which is amazing for you) When you cook it too much, you simply begin to destroy the massive amount of nutrition in it. From healthy fats to protein and hard to find vitamins. This is most easily seen when you hard boil and egg and the yolk turns green instead of staying a nice dark orange. In the end, if the yolk is slightly cooked it's still great, but the more raw the better, and never do yourself a disservice and overcook the yolk. enjoy some eggs guys! -Dream |

This is all very true, and have eggs every morning for breakfast, but for the fats. For protein I find chicken to be far superior. |

Any type of seasoning you would recommend? I have heard you could use the whites in smoothies. Maybe you can throw in the yolk as well. |

I would not throw raw egg whites in smoothies, but raw yolks do make sense (and this is not uncommon). As for seasoning, I prefer sea salt and organic black pepper. Occasionally I add some organic seasoned salt but usually just regular sea salt and pepper, tastes great! =) -Dream |

Ya eating raw eggs, is simply retarded. It is proven your body does not process the good nutrition in eggs such as protein if they are NOT COOKED WELL. It needs to be cooked in order for your body to benefit from eating it. So yea about the rocky movies I feel bad for anyone who just drank 5 or more straight raw eggs. Does nothing for you but bad things |

i agree on the cooking thing. last time i tryed a almost-raw egg i threw up. it was funny with pals tho.anyways, just to clarify, eating eggs is dam good for health. specially those farm-picked up organics. it defenetly help cholesterol. but it only have 6.8grams of protein if that is your objective. so defenelty, have 2, and add other sources. also, eating TOO much is also proven to harm cholesterol. 9-a-week is a to go. so if you eat like 2 or 3 a day, your between 14 to 21, which is way too much. what you could do: mix it up! eat eggs one morning, the other morning, SPAM! fruit smootie! almond butter toast! there is plenty of stuff you guys could eat in the morning, just please, don't go crazy about thoses chicken foetus. |

Are eggs still good if you beat them, e.g. omelette or scrambled? And what about fried? I don't really like boiled and definitely not roar. |
