Post subject:  Rotator Cuff Rehabilitation

Hi Guys,

I partially tore my rotator cuff around 5 months ago now, 2nd time in 9-10 months, the first time, I didn't rehab it, however the pain went away with some light gym work and within 2 months I was back to full strength in it. This time I've really tried to rehab it from looking at stuff online and it's still bothering me, I am nearly back to full strength in the gym, but struggle with certain exercises, mainly;
-push-ups
-barbell shoulder press
-Chest Press

So basically exercises involving my arm being locked out in front of me.

Has anyone got any links or workout programs/specific exercises they could recommend as its starting to annoy me, however it is getting better, just very slowly.

Thanks in advance.

I'm dealing with the same thing. My best advice is to do exercises that involve the rotation of the shoulder joint.

These exercises are designed to do at home but I recommend doing them at the gym with a cable machine and LOW weight. Also, don't do these exercises at the beginning of a workout, do them at the very end. In fact, I recommend you to not do many workouts like bench or military press, as you could injure your shoulder even further.

Good luck, hope you make a full recovery.

Thanks man, looks good.

You might want to check out this video, it's what I've been doing so far and it seems to help a little. (In fact it's almost identical).

Good video. Pretty much covers most of the rehabilitation exercises I showed you.

Good news btw. I did a shoulder workout the other day and my non-injured shoulder gave out BEFORE my "injured" shoulder. It seems like these rotator cuff exercises are working like a charm! Keep at it man!
