| Post subject: | How to maintain a 6 pack? |
As a new year resolution I decided to get a 6 pack, so I continued with my normal sports routine (Long distance running 5 times a week and Weights 2 or 3 times a week). But I stopped eating Fried stuff, chocolates, soft drinks, etc. I've been doing that since January 10th and I've been losing a lot of fat since then, and at this rate of loosing in a week or so I think I''ll be in my ideal body fat rate... So here is the question once I'm there, what should I change in my diet in order to maintain the fat rate and the weight? |

energy balance is key, 100-500 calories below BMR daily negative energy balance, get 1g protein per lb of lean body mass daily, and 0.4g of fat per lb of lean body mass time + weight loss and you will eventually reach your goal |

Abs are all diet. Sorry, sad truth. Cut carbs first and foremost. |

Cut carbs first and foremost. Somewhat. Abs are about 80% diet 20% work. You can be skinny and lean as shit and have a weak looking six pack liek a concentration camp victim. Another misconception is that cutting carbs does something. It doesnt. Cut CALORIES. thats all that matters. You could eat pure butter and lose fat if you cut the right amount of calories or you can gain weight eating spinach and chicken breast if you eat too many calories. Abs are very hard to get and maintain nicely which is why almost nobody has nice ones. |

^ True. There's no denying the physics behind calories in vs. calories out. I can lose weight on ice cream if I wanted to but it doesn't mean I have a good physique. Macronutrient ratios will determine body composition, caloric intake vs output will determine weight gain/loss. |

cutting carbs does help if we are talking about cutting out simple carbs. Refined sugar (white and brown) spikes your insulin, which prevents your glycogen from naturally burning fat in the body. This lasts for several hours. Eat good carbs like pasta, fruit, honey, maple syrup and you'll notice a great change. Also, long distance running basically destroys muscle. Do HIIT (High intensity interval training, google it if you are unfamiliar) and you'll notice a great amount of fat burn. I was already fairly lean to begin with 9% or so, and now I am maybe 6-7% but with pretty visible abs |

Hi worldrunner!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to maintain the same fat rate and weight then pl look at below factual information. Hope it might help you in some manner…………. If your objective is to reduce weight by burning off excess body fat, try to consume 500 less calories per day than your everyday calorie demands, and keep or enhance your workout task. Along with workout, you could follow some nutritional standards to enhance your metabolic rate. Little, regular, dishes help keep your metabolic process in high gear, and that suggests you'll burn even more calories generally. Keep in mind that the bulk of weight loss is described by a shortage of calories and a boost in workout, not due to changes in the portions of protein or carbs in a diet plan. Omega-3 fats could improve metabolic process. Since the body has to work more difficult to digest the fiber, unprocessed meals such as fruits, veggies, and entire grains take longer to digest. As compared to improved and procedured meals, merely digesting entire meals burns more calories. Spicy meals such as red pepper could raise metabolic process for about 30 mins after consumed. The boost is still irrelevant contrasted to exactly what you require in order to lose weight. |
