It really depends on what you mean by better shape, and your body type. If you're an ectomorph you might want to bulk up by using a weight gainer, then cut the fat. If you've already got some fat then just clean up your diet and maybe introduce some whey protein to help build muscle. I use Mt-RX Supreme Whey, but there's plenty more on the market. I've heard Pharma PhD Protein is a good one too. Basketball requires a lot of endurance as far as I understand, so doing cardio is probably the best way to go. I imagine that having powerful legs is pretty useful in basketball too, so hit the gym and do some leg extensions, squats, things like that. |

Just eat healthy. Cut the junk food, eat more protein. The only supplements you should be considering are: Whey Protein, Cod Liver Oil / Omega 3 And maybe: Glucosamine Multi-vit Eating healthy and making sure you've got a decent training plan together will get you in better shape than trying expensive supplements to provide an easy solution. I'm guessing this is related to your other post as well, so on the exercise front to lose weight + get in shape for basketball I'd try adding a 3-6 mile run, 30-40 minute steady state swim session and some resistance (Weight) training once a week. |
