Heard good things about it and wanted some input. My goals are to get fitter and hopefully get a six pack eventually, will this be enough? I was considering learning about the nutrition part later on after I notice a difference. http://www.menshealth.com/mhlists/high- ... /index.php http://www.menshealth.com/mhlists/high- ... /index.php What can I realistically expect from doing this workout and after what period of time? |

No thanks. The problem is that you would be burning too many calories, you want to burn enough calories that your body uses your fat and the food you eat. If you burn too many calories your body will start using muscle too. Doing a workout like that will rip of fat and muscle, you want to do a more controlled burn. Do a regular workout just make sure you see progression, eat healthy and make minor tweaks and adjustments to shape it how you want. |

Meh. Workouts like this and the 300 movie workout are designed to build the kind of functional strength that best suits what they will be doing in the movie as far as stunts and combat scenes, other than that they are just some new version of giant sets somebody conjured up like Crossfit or p90x. Sure you might see gains from these workouts but there are better ways of doing things. |

Are you trying to build your "core" (six pack abdominals) for a sport or just to impress the ladies? |

Not for sport but for personal well-being. Also for the ladies... LOL |

I've done this workout multiple times before, and I definitely recommend it. While it does burn a lot of calories, your muscles are still getting stimulated so I do not think it will affect your muscles poorly. Also note that it is to be used as a cardio workout. This means that you want a regular strength workout every other day, say MWF, and then you could throw in Spartacus on Tuesday and Thursday. That would be a pretty challenging schedule though, and if you haven't worked out for awhile, you should ease into it. |
