| Post subject: | Eating too slowly, and trying to eat *large* meals |
Hey guys, got back into weight lifting after realizing I never gained before simply because my calorie intake was too low. (I've never weighed >140pounds) I'm trying to eat more (and more of the right things) now. However I have a problem. I feel full very quickly. After that, it's like force feeding myself, and almost everyday I have to fight the gagging reflex trying to not throw up. I also eat so slowly...it's embarrassing when out with friends and just a waste of time. Has anyone gotten over this? |

Are you trying to eat 3 large meals a day? If so, your better off going with 5 meals a day that are smaller, which may make it easier for you. |

I think I eat maybe 6 small meals for the day, but I'm trying to increase the size. Most people look at the amount of food and laugh, so I know I need to eat more. I just don't know how to get past this gag reflex, I'm tired of throwing up after spending an hour trying to eat.

You'll get used to it. And if you have trouble putting the food down, put food into mouth, chew chew chew, and swallow with a gulp of water like you would a pill. |

This works for sure. Also, if you have a blender, throw the meal in a blender and drink that shit down

The more you eat, the larger your stomach capacity will expand too. So just eat a little more everyday until your calorie intake gets where it wants to be. Oppose to trying to eat double right away. |

Well I never had any eating troubles, but first thing that thought of was overeating for myself. I asked myself when I usually overeat? Why I overeat ? And the answer was pretty simple, when the food is super delicious that i want to eat and eat, until the point I still want but just can't. Usually it's something my mom, aunt or grandmother makes. |

So far the water+gulp technique has proven to be most effective(although I tend to feel full from all the water). |

Is this a joke? Seriously, if you are eating so much you throw up you are doing it wrong.... Also I have eaten over 5 lbs of food in a single sitting I feel terrible and my stomach hurts but I don't throw up. You should not gag from eating to much. Again, I am having a hard time thinking this is not a joke. |

No. I was starting to believe I had some kind of hypersensitive gag reflex or something. Sometimes I can eat alot but most times I'm not hungry and during these times eating is a chore.
