ok, first off you should join a body building forum, i cant post the link because i think you can get banned for that, anyways i workout and i dont play sports so i guess you could say that im an amatuer body builder. what i do is 3 sets of pull ups as many as you can do, 3 sets of incline dumbell press with heavy weights less reps, 3 sets of hammer curl heavy weight less reps, then i also do dumbell flyes for pecs ( you need good pecs if you want abs, you cant have one without the other) 3 sets with heavy weight less reps (6-12 is what i mean by that). i also do dumbell benchpress at my house 3 sets with heavy etc. and at the gym i use a real bench press with a barbell. then for abs i use the p90x2 abs thing. |

^ this, abs are 90% being lean and the rest the actual muscle.as far as bigger arms, train your ass off, eat right and sleep right and in a few years you'll be there. |

to be real with u, if you wont "big arms" you must bulk first, in witch case u wont have abs, but after 6 / 8 months of a real building diet, u can then very slowly 2 / 3 cut down to the point where you have abs, the point of taking the cut down slow is so u do not loose much muscle mass wile our body is depleted of calories, but then you can then switch to a maintenance diet hope that helps bro |

The secret to mass gaining is lowering the number of reps and raising the weight. ~~ 8 reps is the ideal number. You cant build muscle and rip at the same time. To get abs, follow some routine (get one from another forum) and get a nice diet. |

Do your due diligence and get some good research done. True, abs are made in the kitchen. If your body fat is too high, it doesnt matter if you do 50000 crunches a day. You wont be able to see shit. As for arms, lift heavy (but dont compromise form) and eat more. It's tough increasing muscle muss and getting abs simultaneously so I'd agree with the poster who suggested a bulking phase (for the arms) and then a cutting phase (for the abs). I'd suggest going on that bodybuilding site as well and read the stickies that apply to you. There are tons of misconceptions out there. |

There's something of a conflict of interest here. To gain muscle the general rule is eat an amount of carbs that is in excess to your daily requirement (while lifting weights, of course). To work out and not eat heavy means you're selling your body short, you're doing the exercise but not feeding the muscles what they need to grow. Hence, unless you're bulking up your arm muscles will not be as big as they could be, even if you are working them out. To see your abs you need to have low body fat. You can have a great set of abdominal muscles but nobody is going to see them if you've got a body fat percentage of 30%. The general rule is to bulk up; lift weights and eat heavily, and then cut; lift lighter weights for more reps and do cardio, while following a more restrictive diet to lose weight and get definition. Work on growing your arm and ab muscles first, then start a cutting cycle when you think your arms are big enough. |

Yes, eating healthy and following a good diet isn't easy. But if it were everybody would be ripped. Eat what you want, and put up with your pot belly. Eat clean, train hard and you'll be rewarded with abs. Your choice. |

Someone in my family works out and is a tech sarg, I do not get along with him and currently he has a pot belly. I guess he is having this and will soon be turning this fat into muscles but I don't get along with him and don't want to go his route, I'd rather just be slim and cut with small muscles. I'd rather work on getting a bigger ****. |
