Post subject:  Advice for beer gut / general weight loss (Diabetic)

Hello everyone,

I have made this post to help myself in following up my food and training abit better and to get some advice.

First off all i would like to stop eating loads of candy but i'm kinda addicted to it so i feel everyday that i want it. Even if im having a balanced blood sugar.

This problem gives me another one aswell since i'm starting to get a huge beer gut.
I'm quite skinny on the rest of the body except my belly.

Do anyone know a good way to get a flat belly except doing loads of situps since that alone won't work. I'm drinking alchol 1 day every weekend and i want to continue without aslong as i can but SPAM i just need to do somthing before it gets to bad :/

Any diet / training advice?

Best Regards
Quad

If there's one thing i've learned its that getting a flat stomach is 80% done in the kitchen, and 20% in a workout.
Stop eating candy, you know its a problem - You said so yourself.
Drinking isnt so bad if you only do it once a week. However, if you wanna improve in that, try ordering drinks that are mixed with fruit juice and dont have a sugar-filled alcohol as its base.
And to burn fat, you have to do just that - Burn it. Sit ups build muscle, they dont melt your fat away. Jog/rollerblade/play a sport that has a lot of footwork in it. Eg. Soccer, tennis, etc etc...
The healthier you eat and the more cardio-vascular exercise you do, the faster your results will be.
Good luck!

Hey Quad!

First of all congrats on deciding for healthier choices and let me tell you you're already heading in the right direction by keeping your eye out on your diet. Diet accounts for a large percentage of successes in weight loss. I do not recommend you push yourself too hard though but if you can try adding more health foods and eat less of the "obvious bad stuff'. That will help quite a bit. On top of it there are some very good and effective home workout regimes that help in losing fat and getting more toned. The best ones I can recommend are Supreme 90 Day (so much cheaper than P90X) and the Insanity Workout. These Programs incorporate High Intensity Interval Training, Cardio and Muscle Confusion for maximum fitness. I'd give those a try together with a sound diet and see how you go. That should get you going.:)

Thanks Logic Savvy.
I will try to go for more booze and diet coke, vodka / soda / lemon!
;)

Thanks Starfitness.
Sounds good idd, checked out the web site and they got good replys.
Do you know if you need equipement and shakes / other types of stuff they sell?
I have just started a new education so my payment is not good at all, so would be nice if it was training without too much equipement!

Starfitness is a sales rep for that S90 stuff.

But back to your question, one of the other guys had a good analogy of 80% in the kitchen and the rest in the gym. If you can master your nutrition you can master your weight and body image. And also the spot reduction myth, doing situps to get a flat stomach, is not correct. If you want a flat stomach you have to burn the fat with cardio and build the muscle with exercise.

Hi Quad,

Don't worry I am not trying to overhype S90. I logged into this forum as I saw quite a bit of interest in fitness related subjects and I genuinely believe in the results that everyone can achieve with this program. Of course you could just get P90X but it really is not necessary if you can achieve the same with much lesser priced products. Anyway back to your last question you don't really need much additional equipment at all. Weights and a stability ball are all you really need. Fitness Shakes and Drinks etc. is really up to you. You don't need to buy any expensive stuff, you can just make your own if you want.

Hope that helps! :)

hey mate, i joined a gym cause i was severly over weight, nearly 20 stone, am now 16 and still losing it, i just done alot more cardio workouts and some weights in my arms and legs, im not building muscle around the stomach because fat over muscle is bad, so just join the gym and keepdoing more cardio, it works for me and drinking once a week is ok, i think your biggest problem is your love for sweets and candy, just kicking that habit alone should show a change in your weight loss, good luck what ever you do

Hey Quad one of the best things you can do is to eat fruit instead of candy as this will lower your calorie intake. The toughest thing about coming off of candy is the first three or four days. This is because the sugar is still in your blood so you crave it! If you manage those first few days you'll find it much easier. Good luck.

Here is my suggestions to you. Go to the gym and hire a personal trainer. They can help whip you into shape in no time at all. I know cause I did the same.
