Post subject:  Loosing 8% body fat?

I am currently 6'4" and weigh 170 pounds. My current body fat is 15% and I want to get it down to 8% while still maintaining my muscle mass. How can I lower my body fat by 8% but still hit the weights and build muscle?

Hey man, have you read The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferris? Basically its a
program that speeds up your metabolism and causes you to lose
mass amounts of body fat in very short periods of time (its like a book on how to become superhuman). I've
done it and it works (the weightloss part). My starting weight was 78.4 and in a
fornight I went down to 66.7. Its a really interesting book
and very informative (its legit and very safe, even Menshealth
is catching on). I had to stop doing it cause my mother was moaning
and whining that I'm gonna get sick (i never did but still its a great
program and worth a try)

I cant post the link but have a look on Google for a .pdf/ebook
of it online. If you want to lose the weight but keep the muscle
mass its the way to go.

Shot man, hope that helps!

I wouldn't suggest as low as 8% to start with, but choice is up to you.

What Chai said, I've heard many a good thing about that but never really seen it in action or tried it myself, no harm in trying.

With losing the body fat but maintaining muscle? It's pretty easy, as long as you are keeping enough protein consumption you should still be able to progress with your muscle goals to a certain extent while burning fat.

I prefer to work periodization - 4 months fat burning, 4 months strength/conditioning, 4 months size. Back to the start.

Keeps it fresh, keeps the body working, and generally keep an all round good result.

If we control the amount of fats we take in the body everyday, it is possible to get rid of extra fats from the body. We should take our regular diet. Include fruits and vegetables in our diet.

the best thing is to join a gym and get a personal trainer and he will tell you the ways to lose all the body fat that you do not need and he can make you get more muscle as well and there are lots aof tgirls in the gysms too. i have been workiking out in the gyms now for yeards and i have a six pack and my chest muscles are big and my biceps are getting beiiger all the time. i can do over 500 press ups in one hour and i can run aabout 10 miles 3 fdays in a week.

A high protein diet with a low carb and low fat diet. Lowering bodyfat while holding onto muscle is one of the hardest things to perform correctly, because muscle must be built on a calorie surplus while fat can only be lost through a calorie deficit. Post your training split, your current diet, and I can give more specific advice. If you are 170 lbs your macros should look something like
P: 230
C: 130
F: 25

However if you know how to read your metabolism these numbers will vary.

The newest thing I've read and actually will start later this
week is Kettlebell training. It's supposed to be a really
oldschool yet effective way of losing fat and building
muscle very fast, that might be what you're looking
for if you're into weight training?

You need to do some routine cardio exercises like swimming , running or cycling because these exercises are best for fitness and for weight loss ..
