| Post subject: | Wheel of Life (method for improving lifestyle) |
Think about Bruce Wayne and SPAM. I will be relating to it in this pose. I do a bit of life coaching and this is the map I make for people to improve their lifestyle. It is also the model I used with great success. Draw a circle and divide it into sections so it looks like a wagon wheel. This is the Wheel of Life method of creating a fulfilling and attractive lifestyle. Bruce Wayne probably has a pretty good wheel. Label the circles pieces into 8 pieces. 1 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT,2 CAREER,3 MONEY, 4 HEALTH/ WELL BEING. Divide the next piece in half and label 5a FRIENDS on one side and 5b FAMILY on the other. 6 Personal Developement 7 Romance, sex, significant other. 8 RECREATION & FUN now in equal increments label 1 - 10 down the spokes. one on the inside and 10 on the outer rim. Rate your level of satisfaction for each area. Bruce Wayne's wheel would look very different from SPAM's so if you are into avatar stuff then you will need to make 2. In order of importance here are the things to look for on your wheel if you want to make progress in having an attractive lifestyle. 1) Look for the overall smoothness of your wheel. If some places are 10 and others are 2 this is a big problem and shows poor prioritizing. A bumpy wheel isn't going to roll very well at all. A lot of people get stuck working on the parts of their life that they are already good at because it makes them feel in control. Don't do that! 2) once you have located the lacks then start actively working on them. Set goals and work towards them. Make sure every goal you set is backed by KNOWLEDGE STRUCTURE MOTIVATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY. If you are missing any of those then you simply won't make much progress. 3) Size of the Wheel. After your wheel is smooth start growing your wheel. A big wheel will travel farther per rotation than a small one. Imagine SPAM wheel and imagine Bruce Waynes wheel. Both kind of suck. Have you noticed that neither one is very successful with women? A lot of girls are after Bruce because he has $$$ and a cool career but his relationships don't last because of his fragmentation. This is why I don't like the avatar crap and will never have a "cool" PU name. I like my name, and I would rather spend my time working on my true wheel rather than my Avatar wheel. As your wheel grows you will feel happier, more fulfilled, more confident, and people will be more attracted to you in general. Back to Knowledge Structure Accountability Motivation... here is an example for improving the Sex spoke of your wheel. Knowledge: Read all the material you can on PU and talk on forums with good people. This will give you knowledge (duh). Structure: Breakdown the components and set mini goals (missions) for each one. Effectively you are setting a road map to success. You are identifying what you need to do to get the end result and creating an organized system for achieving it. It is also important to create a definition for success so you can compare your progress back to where you started. Accountability: Create a journal to maintain records of what you have already done. This will hold you accountable and make sure you don't miss any critical steps in your plan. Share your goals with others and keep them updated. Hiring a mentor would be best for this if you can afford it. Motivation: You need to want it. I mean really want it. So write a list of all the reasons you want this aspect of your life to improve. I personally have countless "Dream Boards" that have structure written on the back. There are countless books on how to increase your motivation. I know this message is long but anything worth doing takes time to explain. Use this model and you won't regret it. |

Since posting this I added one more to the goal achievement wheel. Now it is. Accountability Structure Knowledge Motivation and Enjoyment. Enjoyment is crucial.
