| Post subject: | applying a passion for strategy games |
Hi everyone. I've been a big fan of strategy games since way back. I've played a lot of video games such as starcraft/warcraft, played poker fairly seriously for 2 years and basically love any kind of game which I have to use my head. I was wondering how i can turn my passion into an attractive hobby that involves lots of socializing with not just guys but girls too. any ideas would be much appreciated. One which comes to my head is joining a bridge club because its a team game but i can't find any at my college :S |

Some girls are into that scene, but it's usually pretty slim pickings. It's good that you're passionate about something, that's an attractive quality in and of itself. It's not even that important what you're passionate about. |

MMORPGs and text-based MUDs, although geeky, have traditionally been cybersex havens. Cybersex - usually the act of typing dirty text to someone, accompanied with masturbation - can easily turn into real world sex if you take a road trip. The trick isn't finding someone to hook up with virtually. The trick is finding someone you'd actually want to bone In Real Life. I guess after you do the nasty with her in text, you could ask to exchange photos. Or before, who knows. Maybe you'll eventually meet someone who's actually worth fucking. Back in the day I just couldn't stand to spend that much of my time in an illusory world. I didn't think it was healthy to get emotionally invested in people I'd never met IRL. Nowadays, hm, I just don't think it's a good time investment for me. Would be a cinch if I was already deeply into that kind of gaming though. Don't do Meetup gamer groups unless you like fat chicks. Intellectually these people are great, but they're un-sexy with socially stunted tendencies. Because the core members are like that, they drive everyone else away, so these groups end up being more of the same. I did see one group deliberately trying to counteract that; they declared themselves to be the "Active Gamer Group." They were more interested in physically oriented games such as on the Wii, and also playing some real sports as well. I would have tried their group out but they were in another city. |

I like strategy games my self, but I'd have to agree with other users and enthusiasts that directly seeking a female who is into this could be quite fruitless. Not to discourage your endeavor however, you CAN apply your skill set in practical ways. Use the skills learned from strategy games to assess what you can and can't do in a situation. View field days like open terrain, use it to your advantage. Use whatever is in your arsenal; I'm sure this could be of some help to you. I have started to use my critical thinking skills in game, especially as it applies to day game. Day game in my personal opinion is based off a combination of factors, but the greatest being strategy. This isn't saying that women are the enemy, indeed, they are far from this. But use your wisdom, knowledge, and foresight of relationships and social situations to create the desired outcomes you wish. This promises to be a quite intriguing theory. I in no way understand the practicality of this mindset, but I am sure it would fit your intents and purposes |
