I'm a DJ. The most basic advice I give anyone trying to be a DJ is that it can get expensive, and there are always hidden costs. You can become a bedroom DJ fairly cheap: Pickup a controller, laptop, serato/torq/traktor etc. But you want to play at parties you say? Gotta have speakers, laptop speakers won't cut it. You need some good headphones too. If you want to become a legitimate mobile DJ that makes money, you need lights as well. Depends what your goals are.
You said you want to make beats and DJ. Personally, I would start off with just one and get good at that first. Being a good DJ and being able to beat-match, transition, scratch, etc takes years of practice (although if you use software to do all of your transitions you don't need nearly as much practice, just hope you don't ever have to play on a pair of decks, because you will be lost). I have friends that make beats, and they spend countless hours doing that as well. I, personally don't have enough time to keep up my DJ abilities and create new beats all the time, although it is a fun hobby once in awhile. As someone else said above, the NS7 is a good controller if that is the route you want to go. Good luck
