Post subject:  Just moved cross-country...fresh start...where to begin?

I have been in the military for 5 years and just transferred from WA to FL. I am a single 26 year old. I just moved to FL a month ago the problem is I know nobody down here. I am from WA so when I was stationed there I had my family and old buddies to fall back on. Now its just me out here. I work with about 6 people in my work center but they are all married and a bit older.

I have a steady job, a car and a motorcycle, and my apartment with no roomies. No one knows me out here and I know no one out here. What would be some good ways to start networking? There is a college next to where I live with a bunch of hotties. I have no friends down here so I am on my own. I was watching the movie Yes Man and im starting to feel like that guy in the beginning of the movie but even he at least has friends inside and outside of work.

Honestly, just put yourself out there. Introduce yourself to everyone in your apartment complex, even the guys and get their numbers. Then go out to local coffee shops/bars and do the same thing. By then you should have met a few girls that you can have fun with but most importantly you will have met a good group of guys just to hang out with. Begin arranging something every week with your guy friends and begin building up friendships. From there you'll have a social circle to go out and game from and you'll be much happier and not lonely with your new group of friends.

couldn't agree more with the above...
another group to add to, this is find a few quiter bars n clubs etc the quiter ones with seating areas get to know the staff memebers as soon as possible from door men to bar staff to cleaners (because cleaners no ALL )

nothing more impressive then taking a girl out u just met in yr apartment complex to a club and saying hi and introducing her object her from door to bar to seat and then chat away if its a local place odds are she has been there and never knew half the people you do makes u seem the in man, and she starts to wonder why the hell she DOESNT no u ;)

Also if you just have trouble meeting people in general, you can sign up for one of those free dating sites, like Plenty of Fish, so you can meet people in your area. I did this for a while right after I moved and made some friends (and some more then that) through it.

Ok good advice. Ive started by at least saying hi to all the people at my apartment as I get mail, take out trash, etc. There seems to be alot of activity in the pool area but people go in groups and I feel kind of odd if I went there alone.

I use pof.com. Honestly I think its one of my sticking points. Of the last 10 women I have hung out with I probably met 9 of them on pof.com

I am Florida and there are a ton of beaches around I need to make it out there.

Oh one of my co-workers mentioned that at the local university its free to use the gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, etc. and that you dont have to be a student. Im gonna try to make it out there and meet some new people and I love to play basketball.

The panhandle...Pensacola...aka Florbama. I guess its more Alabama then Florida.

Well last weekend a girl I was talking to on POF flaked on me so I did absolutely nothing. This weekend I have nothing planned either which sucks. I was hoping to meet some friends at work but everyone I work with is 10 years older then me and married.

So Im going to try to go out tomorrow alone to do some stuff. I always went out with friends in Seattle so this is taking me out of my comfort zone. Guess ill try hitting up the beach hopefully it wont be ackward if I fly solo there.

Duuuude, I spent a year living in perdido key. That is an amazing place to sarge. The florabama is one of the best places to sarge in the US without a doubt. Once june starts until about september, the vacationers that inhabit the gulf coast are out of control. Those chicks are all just looking for a one week hook up. I can't even begin to tell you how many chicks I took home last summer who were vacationers. Girls love the no strings attached hook ups.

Anyway, the bama is perfect because you can meet a girl dancing inside on the main dance floor, you can chill outside in between the outside stage and the inside bar where you can actually talk to chicks without much noise. Plus that middle ground is a huge transit area with people going inside/outside, trying to get drinks at less packed bars. the upstairs deck is also a really low key place to run game.

with respect to making friends there, I'm not sure if you are an officer or enlisted, but there are hundreds of navy pilot trainees who live there who I've found to be really cool. they do nothing while they wait around to start flight school so they're always willing to party.

anyway, in short, the bama is an excellent place to day sarge, run into horny vacationers, lots of horny cougars, and meet locals as well. pick up a beer at the outside donstairs bar during the day and meet the bartenders. I used to spend so much time there that my bar tabs were literally free after a while. Meet Kelly at the outside bar, shes blonde, in her 30's, and a sweetheart. Just grab a year membership for 30$ and i promise you it will be the best 30$ you ever spent.

and if you end up doing good work there, def post it on here.

good luck
