Post subject:  getting my first apartment!

Hey guys!

I´m getting my first own apartment. It´s going to be in Stockholm or suburbs of Stockholm. It can be somewhere between 30-60 square meters and (if you are interested will cost between 1.3-1.9 miljoner kronor).

I have friends who can tell me if a apartment is worth it´s price or not and etcetera.

What I am wondering is if you should look for anything particular as a PUA? Do you need a balcony, great kitchen, good location, seclusion? what should you look for to make a good bachelor pad?

You can do almost anything to an empty space to pimp it out. Let your personality show through and deck it out with interesting stuff.

For a PUA-pad a jacuzzi or stripper pole would make it pretty pimp 8)
Otherwise balcony is a nice touch, pool would nice too.
Having a bar inside is tight.

Good location is key. Walking distance to bars/clubs makes things sooooo much easier.
Even a short cab ride is good.

Another thing to think about is noise restrictions.
Are the walls paper-thin or quite sound-proof?
Are your neighbours all old people or is it a young trendy area?
I assume you'd want to host parties and/or make a bit of noise.

Thank you very much Dodgez, those are some very good points! Jacuzzi and stripper pole is a tad too much but, definitely getting a balcony. Bar inside is a great idea to.

About location.. if you trade walking distance to clubs to a five-10 minute cab ride for a apartment twice or trice as big: then is it preferable choosing the longer ride but bigger place? Do you have any points on how long the maximum cab ride should be?

Very sound advice, going to consider all of that when making my choice.

Also, Stockholm is very segregated. What are you guys opinions on choosing a well respected area over a less respected area?

What I used to do when living in Asia, when I was looking for a new place, I would check it out during the day but then I would always go back at night to the same place. Because sometimes it can be a completely different vibe, noises come out of nowhere etc so that might be a good idea too.

And yes I think it would be better to have much nicer place with a little bit more of a cab ride. Ideally it should be walking distance but I mean if you find an amazing place that's only 5-10 minute drive away you might as well do that. It's just that a friend of mine lives right near a club area and it's so easy to suggest having some drinks back at his place or anything alone those lines to get girls back. (If it's close you can also turn your place into a meet-up/hang-out spot where people go for pre-drinking. It all depends on what kind of lifestyle you wanna have.

I don't know the culture for Stockholm so can't comment on the area, but unless there are legitimately dangerous areas there that a girl may be scared to go to, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It should definitely be one of your considerations, but more important is the quality of the apartment (then again, the area may have an direct effect on the future value of the apartment).

Good luck man, having your own place willl supercharge your game.
