Hi. I am always improving my chances at greater success. I currently work at Walmart as a cashier, which I enjoy a least the majority of time. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chico State university in Economics: Option in Environmental Economics that I earned back in 2004. I also studied to be an Account Clerk through Butte College back in 2006. Right now, I am taking an online class in Quickbooks and am studying bookkeeping/accounting through American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). I hope to pass the Certified Bookkeeper exam and move up the ladder a bit further. I recently joined AEA (American Economic Association) as well as AERE (Association of Environmental and Resource Economics). These seemed like a great addition to my resume and reading list. I subscribe to Inc. magazine and Success magazine. I was thinking of creating a business plan. Have any of you guys done this at all? If I was to start my own business, it would have something to do with environmental consulting as I know a bit about the economy, record-keeping, the earth, and accounting. I personally enjoy Napoleon Hill and Tony Robbins for business motivation. They are very knowledgeable. It is amazing how much growth is possible when you put your mind to it and overcome limitations. -Chicoman |

Sounds cliche but I enjoy Trump's books...how to think big and kick ass is good, builds up balls and gives courage. I read a lot of business/finance/self-help books myself but not napoleon hill (yet). Network the hell out of those groups you joined and also join linked in. |

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I also have a book or two with Donald Trump and a few other finance/business books to help out with my success. That is a great idea to network with what connections I already have. I have been on LinkedIn for a lil while now and it is a great resource. I am thinking of starting my own business if the job market does not pick up for me. I have a steady job with Walmart right now, but with my past history with them: flirting/sarging with girls there, trying to move up the ladder prematurely, and other factors, they seem to ignore me. As a PUA, this kinda sucks to be singled out. On a side note, I have dabbled in making porn websites, but I struggle to round up traffic, to make more $$$. Thus, I am trying to actually use my degree for something other than to wipe my ass with... if that makes any sense. |

Just passed my Quickbooks class final exam with a 97%. That's pretty cool. I talked to the Business Coordinator at the HRA office a week or so ago. She convinced me that I need to focus more on who my target clients are. Hopefully, I can use my strengths and hone my weaknesses to do something more than just cashiering at Walmart. Walmart is not a horrible job, but I have a lot of potential that can be used in areas rather than asking people "debit or credit?" and "would you like a bag for this/that?". I'll figure something out... |

I'm probably going to start studying Excel on the side in addition to really busting the books for my AIPB Certified Bookkeeper exams. I got a bit lazy about the bookkeeping due to my Quickbooks class and work, which I forgive myself for because I was busy with those. My mom keeps telling me to become a tax auditor, but I really do not want to be leeching off of people in that route. I'll look into it though. Girl-wise, I flirt/talk with a bunch of cuties that come into work and/or girls that I work with. I'm looking for housing out on my own again. This time I am a lot smarter and am avoiding getting roommates. My last roommate was an alcoholic that liked to keep guns in his bedroom... bad combination. |

I recently joined the Sierra Club for like a $15 donation. They are sending me an old school style backpack and a magazine subscription along with some other "perks". I have heard a lot of good things they do to help the preservation of the environment, so I figured it would be a good organization to join. Plus, Jessica Alba is a member among many other eco-conscious celebrities. I loves me some Ms. Alba. |

Chicoman, Most states have business plan assistance, among other things, to help people create, improve, or buy small businesses. A while back I was looking at buying a small fire system installation/maintenance business and the state I was living in at the time had an individual come out, look at the financial records, evaluate the assets, and estimate the total value of the company to determine if the owner was asking the right price. Turns out he was asking about $50k less than what it was worth. And this service was completely free of charge, all paid for by the state's economic development program. |

Hey guys, I enjoyed reading this thread. It's nice to find a community that handles all of the important things in a man's life. Obviously girls, and lifestyle go hand and hand. For the first time in 6 years I am without a girlfriend and have been depressed in the town I'm currently living in. However, the last few days have helped me re-evaluate things and I'm actually starting to see all the good things I have. Last night I went out sarging for the very first time and did so by myself. It was a great night. I k closed a pretty hot babe and had a lot of laughs with a bunch of other girls and even some dudes. Lifestyle wise, I have a pretty good job managing radio stations and although there are some issues there at this point, I've got it pretty good. Recently got a raise, I'm one of the youngest manager's in the industry that I know of and the future is as bright as I want to make it. I would however like to get out of debt and work towards building my own business as well. I do some voice work through a couple of different websites which is a good start but I'd like to invest some money and really start building my lifestyle. Anyway, I just felt compelled to add something here. Thanks again for the read! |
