Hey guys. I'm very new to pick-up but it was two years ago that I decided to improve my lifestyle. So this is my second year that I'm having a good diet, going to the gym and going out running very regularly, going out often as well. The thing is, I quit playing online videogames. I felt like there was nothing good coming out of that and I decided not to play anymore. The thing is, I don't find anything else I have a passion for so far. This is my second year without playing any videogame and still feel like there's something very important missing, something that I have a passion for. Does somebody in the forum have points in common? |

Find a new hobby. Learn to play an instrument, start playing a sport, start painting, drawing, etc. Find something else you really enjoy doing. You can't quit doing something and then replace the time you used to spend doing it just sitting around. |

Yeah, well... I guess I have to keep looking for new activities until I found the real replacement. Anyway as I said, I replaced the time working out, going out etc. It's not like I'm sitting at home.

Theres nothing wrong with playing video games. Yes its a time sink. You also enjoy it. So do what you like. Now there is a difference between casually playing video games and being an addict to video games to the point that it is all you do with your life. Everything in moderation. |

Contrary to popular belief, your hobbies don't matter much. Play video games if that makes you happy. Don't feel cooler-sounding activities are better. There's outdoor nerds, sports nerds, music nerds, etc... All pretty much the same people. Those who withdraw and focus on what they're good at. How's your social life? How often do you meet new people? That's the only hobby that really matters. |

Was addicted to starcraft. Here's how I quit: Associated negative thoughts with the game - assholes talking shit - how it made me less social and tired - how it made me feel like a nerd and loser - associated it with dark and bleak imagery - imagined a nerdy 13 year old asian kid w/ a moustache beating if off + eating his jizz after shit talking and raping me in a game -calculated approximately days left I have to live steps - snapped cd - removed all SC related files - started ignoring/blocking SC clan mates on fb, SPAM etc Crowded the shit out of it in my life by - joining dance clubs in college - reading PUA/social skills/tonality/better lifestyle stuff for fun lol - joined some random ass pua forum.. o hey guys |

By working out, you'll feel healthier and will just make you look god damn better in clothes. I used to play alot of video games being younger. When I began thinking I wanted to be fit and get girls, I started going to the gym. I started eating properly to get in shape and just socialize more and hang out with friends instead. |

Think about what just takes over your mind when you do it besides video games then try to find things that coincide with it instead of looking for a specific hobby at first. Basically look into each type of hobby if you get what I mean. I'll use myself as an example, I love things that give me a huge adrenaline rush basically. Things I have done and still do to fulfill my need for adrenaline are I have gone skydiving twice, I do MMA, I shoot (lucky I have the dad I do), and lastly my dad has a Subaru WRX and I drive the shit out of it P.S. oh yeah I workout to, but I wouldn't really consider that a hobby because imo everyone no matter their interest should workout. Pretty much everyone likes it, and everyone benefits from it. That would be a good thing to fill up some time with while your still trying to find your specific interests. Between starting bodybuilding, and learning how to be a PUA that will be a fair amount of time taken up. |

i dont think you should quit all together, i am an avid gamer myself where i played CoD professionally (playing for money in leagues) but that was years ago i only play casually now as i consider playing games with friends same as going out and socializing, your just having fun. if you have other events on in your life then video games should not be a problem, but that also depends on what kinda game tho haha. |
