Post subject:  Alpha male behaviour sometimes conflicts

I'm a happy, optimistic, enthusiastic person. Lately i've been trying to incorporate a few alpha male behaviourisms into my character, for example walking broad, confident pace, being decisive, moving slowly etc.

It all works out perfectly except for one thing. Apparently one of the alpha things to do is not be enthusiastic about anything, you have to be indifferent, unbothered. Nothing can really get to you. But this conflicts with what I want. When I'm having a conversation and the other person is telling me a brilliant story, I want to know everything so I get excited (also to show a bit of empathy) to stir up the conversation. Is this wrong of me? Should I just be boring and not let it interest me?

If you are enthusiastic and you look away I think it's still good. Anyway you shouldn't be enthusiastic about anything because nothing can make you enthusiastic if you are an alpha male.

But then you lead a very VERY boring life. I'm wondering how I can combine the two traits.

An alpha male is really just someone who's in control and expresses them self the way they are naturally. As long as you are genuine, be enthusiastic. If someone tells you "Don't do this because alpha males don't do that" but it's part of your real personality, then don't listen to them. Be yourself.

Dude, Just have fun. It's the most underrated puzzle of the game. When you have fun while doing it, it will make you cool and together. HBs will practically go to you if they sense that you are fun and new.

be enthusiastic if its the kind of person you are, just dont get over excited and go over the top, if you have to much energy youll come off as a wierdo who doesnt talk to people much

Alpha-males dominate sets and their friends through the TIMING of their enthusiasm! :) If your constanlty enthusiastic it DLV as the smallest things gains a huge reaction from you.

Having said this, dont revert to being unemotive. Just tone it down in places. If someone genuinely interests you more than someone else, let your enthusiasm show some more. You'll find people enjoy the challenge of getting a reaction out of you. :D

For a bit of a background, Im a stand-up comedian, not successful, but not bad (audiences love me, even if my material is average). My point is I'm a natural ecentric; enthusiastic, easy-going, energetic. My success in the field stems from how I manage to limit the flow of it. When I play a game, I change, slightly, but I change. Im competative and more calm, this is how it is with PU. An example:
I opened a 7 set, my friends (2 AFCs) took a girl each, and I took the other 5 (later 6 when a final friend showed up) and I restrained myself from being too emotive. By acting unimpressed, pressing for more excitement from a story a HB was telling, and simple negs I had full control of all 8 within 10 minutes of opening (my friends even up'ed and left as I was doing so well and they wanted to see where I got with it). I got more and more at ease, allowed my enthusiasm in and took them for a dance. Use your enthusiasm wisely (chanel it into dancing at a club).

Hope this helps dude! :)
