Hey there Dr. Spargenator,Like some people mentioned so far, it's more of a state of mind than anything else. In other words, there really would be any 'techniques' involved.
When starting out, it's much easier to memorize lines and routines that you can use as a crutch to build self confidence. This would be considered 'outer game.' However over time, you start to notice patterns when interacting with HBs as well as social groups. You become more conscious of your body language, tonality, self expression, voice inflections, etc etc. You keep what works. And discard what doesn't.
Over time you're able to create your own routines, openers, and lines. Except that now, they are no longer routines, openers, and lines. They are now part of who YOU have become. These are now beliefs that are deeply ingrained into your subconscious. Thus, you become more dependent on your own creativity, since you now have a higher social intelligence. This is when your inner game has grown, your reality is stronger, and your frame becomes magnetic. Or in other words, you are more of a natural.
