Post subject:  alcoho or no alcohol- that is the question

My question is alcohol or no alcohol
I have noticed that when i consume large amounts of alcohol my ability to game is severely decreased
however, if i drink no alcohol i usually dont have the confidence to make a move
what is the genersl consensus, i gather most puas go in without much alcohol?

NO ALCOHOL AT ALL!

If you think you need alcohol for confidence, you're wrong. You need experience while being sober to get confident. If you have to drink in order to be able to approach women you will never be able to approach women unless you've consumed some of the sweet nectar. Second: if you're out solely to meet woman you have got to have a clear head to be able to react fast to the things that happen and to be able to recall what went wrong.
If you wan't progress alcohol is a no-go!
Goodluck with finding your confidence :) It's not that hard to find, trust me.

Seconded. If you really want to take it into some Level 10 shit, drop alcohol altogether. Your responses will be faster, you will be in a more upbeat mood at all times (not just at night after a cocktail or 2) and when you go into state you can be unstoppable.

Interesting responses- how would you feel toa bit of alcohol, sometimes its hard to get a buzz from a night out, alcohol might help.
Conversely, if you aren't getting a buzz from a night out with the expectation of picking up skills maybe you aren't doing it right/need more confidence.
I definately know i need to work on the confidence department :)

Alcohol is nice once you're good at your game.
If you are using it to have confidence then
it will be a crutch that can possibly make
you an alcoholic (that's how it usually starts)

Confidence doesn't come from "thinking"
but "KNOWING" you are the shit and you
can only get that from sober practice
and success.

It's the difference from
thinking you can drive to being able
to do it without thinking about it. With
enough practice confidence will become
autopilot

Find a drink that you can get buzzed on but can keep it in cheack as too not get too drunk. I know Ive blown full closes in the past from being too drunk at the time. They key is to drink enough to get a good Vibe going, but not so much that you lose control, get to that point.

I've recently quit drinking while gaming and it has resulted in a period of very rapid improvement.

What helped me eliminate alcohol was approaching a few sets during the daytime sober before going out. That made my initial approaches at night easier. After about ten approaches at night, sober, I have such a buzz going nobody would know i was sober - except I have a clear head which is invaluable.

Personally I will have a couple drinks while out (ideally not more than 1 per hour to keep your blood alcohol % decent). That is if I feel like drinking. My #1 goal when I'm out is to have fun, not pick-up women. If you're having fun, the rest will follow.

I've seen so many PUA guys in NYC that say "No alcohol", and they just sit around looking bored waiting to open the next woman.

That said, don't rely on getting drunk to gain your confidence. In fact, if you want to gain skills don't allow yourself to get to the 'tipsy' stage while going out to practice pick-up. The more you drink, the less women you will be able to successfully game (you can pick up drunk women while tipsy, but gaming sober women when you're drunk.. not so easy).

Where are you talking about going? to a city park or mall during the day or a nightclub or bar?

If you don't drink at the night club or bar you look stupid.

Let me give you a hint about drinking b/c I'm a regular drinker. Try to get a nap the day you go out. A couple hours before you go out try to eat something that has a lot of bread. If you have the money to start your drink at the club as opposed to at home do it. For me the beauty of the drink is the excitement as the euphoria builds. Typically that's from about drink 4 to drink 10. After 10 I level off. But drink 4 to 10 can be a good 2 to 3 hour period too. Some times I will be drinking several hours and when I do I get to a point I don't feel like talking. Not that I'm sick, but I know I can't put sentences together well.

Why do you look stupid? If I'm drinking a coke, you won't have a clue what I'm drinking. Could have any sort of alcoholic mixer in there. The only way you'll look stupid is if you rely on alcohol to improve your socialising skills. If you're just going to stand in the corner too shy to dance or talk to girls when sober, then you'll look stupid. For people who can actually socialise and enjoy themselves without alcohol, you have much more chance of looking stupid under the influence than you do sober.

Now, I drink quite heavy on some nights out. And I've had some ridiculous nights which have spawned stories which are both funny and quite often embarrassing as well. But I'm sure we've all been there. I'm at a point now though where, to be quite honest, I don't get a buzz out of getting drunk. I don't get any "euphoria" like you mention here. It takes me a lot to get drunk, which is often expensive. I feel crap the next day. If I'm really drunk I often do stupid things (not like criminal stupid, but stupid nonetheless), and if I do pull when drunk I have also not been able to finish - I can always get hard, but I assume because I'm "numb" from the booze, I just don't come. Alternatively, if I don't drink, or just have a couple, I can remember the whole night, spend less, feel fine the next day, it doesn't ruin or interfere with my long term fitness goals, I don't do anything stupid, I probably have a more enjoyable time as I'm actually doing things I find funny, not which the alcohol is making me do, and now that my game is half decent, I have more success with girls. I still go out and sometimes have a big night with the lads and get far too drunk. But usually now I just don't bother.

Moral of the story - "to drink or not drink" is not the question. Just do what you want.
