Hi guys! Basically, I've been texting this girl for a few days on & off, and thought it was going ok. Then at one point when I wanted to be sure that she's single, she replied with something like : "Yes, officially I am single, but I'm mainly looking for friendship at the moment." That was a few days ago, I kind of brushed it off, as it seemed pretty general rather than a categorical statement that she wants to stay single. Today I texted & suggested that we eat together. She agreed to dinner at a restaurant. I know that this CAN seem a bit AFC, the whole dinner thing, but I genuinely wanna eat at this place AND get to know her better! What I want to know is : 1. Is the dinner thing a bad idea (she's just texted again to confirm arrangements. She also was the one to be fairly forthcoming in suggesting times etc) 2. Am I LJBF before it's even happened? Due to the fact she hinted at being single but "looking for friendships" etc? Can I redeem this, or am I already on the way to the friend zone? Cheers fellas! Any feedback would be great! |

I think she'll enjoy the free meal and she already pre LJBF'd you so there's no guilt on her part. Bottom line: Enjoy the meal with your new friend. |

Cheers for the feedback guys. The walk in the park or something of that ilk would normally be a good idea. However, the two problems with this are that : a) There's no park near to our part of town b) I have a physical disability & can't really go on "long" walks. Obviously, I would like to go back to my place after the restaurant! But it will probably be around 11pm by the time we finish eating, so time could be an issue?? Is my simply suggesting we go back to my place for a nightcap too AFC / cliché?? Cheers! |

First, the dinner thing is said to be a no-no because its too cliche. Everybody goes on dinner dates and I'm sure she's been on hundreds. The point is for you to be memorable, and you need to do something different in order for her to remember you. Do ANYTHING besides dinner and a movie. Unless, of course, you're completely confident that you can come across awesome and different without going to a new venue. Secondly, she said she's "just looking for friends" which means either you're in the friend zone, or she is wanting to find a fuck buddy. If you're in the friend zone, and you may very well be, you need to create more attraction. Comfort + Attraction = sex. Too much comfort, and you're in the friend zone. Too much attraction, and you will make her run away. You have to find that balance or there will be no relationship. Bottom line, create more attraction and be different/memorable! |
