| Post subject: | Advice please on restaurant follow up |
Hey all.... gotta say I've been reading a lot of stories and such on this site. There are some really cool people here and I'm impressed with the positivity all around here! And some really knowledgeable guys too! I could really use some wisdom here if you don't mind... I'm new to this craft so I'm not familiar with the acronyms and terms you guys use but I am going to look them up right now so don't slow down for me... I'll learn up. So here's the deal. I was with some friends at a really dead restaurant last week and it was only us and another party sporting a girl so distractingly gorgeous and exotic I had no choice but to make a move. It was better to crash and burn than to let her slip off forever. Part 1 ---------------- Sitting at the table, I notice her I notice her notice me a few times. She is talking with her party quite a bit but she did make eye contact. Then at one point she let her hair down and then put it back up while glancing at me out the corner of her eye once seemingly to see if I was looking. I'm not afraid of eye contact so I playfully smirk when I see this and she snaps away. Part 2 ---------------- There has been no opportunity for isolation the whole time I was there. Once she went to the salad bar but with one of her party... I didn't want to intrude as they were clearly engaged in a discussion. Luckily just as we were leaving she goes again.. but by herself. This is a really fit girl here, is she that hungry or did she bait herself? I'm not sure. Part 3 ---------------- I take advantage of my opportunity and open with a compliment on her killer bell bottoms, suggesting that it's hard to compliment such a thing without admitting I had to check out her legs to do it... simple but made her laugh. Foreign accent! I ask her her name and she tells me. Then she asks me my name, then inquires about it... then asks where I'm from... then I ask where she's from and she's from Italy in the US for University. I ask how long, she makes a point to say "quite a while". I have her name, and she told me where to easily find her, (even the department), so I purposely didn't ask for the digits so I could safely James Bond it knowing I can contact her easily. Her story checks out completely and it took 2 minutes to find her work number at the university site and that's what I have. Let me have it guys.... what is your take on this? And how should I proceed from here? |

Call her and ask her out for some stimulating conversation and a cup of coffee. |

So you played "James Bond" and got her work number and now you're asking us what to do with it? Actually you had the perfect opportunity to get her number,if the interaction was going as good as you say "Hey my friends are leaving, enjoyed talking to you, lets get together some time and continue this converstion, whats your number?" That simple statement would have told you more than playing "Bond". Now if you use that work number, odds are the first thing out of her mouth may be "how did you get this number?" be prepared with a good answer... |

Hey, Nayail, thanks for responding. I wish that the situation was more conducive to a slightly longer conversation to get that "simple statement" in, but that simple statement would have meant standing there with her company eyeing her with a plate of food, getting my phone out yada yada. Just wan't the time or place, but some progress was made. And by "Bond" I simply meant desisting from the encounter in a cool and interested way, but not hounding her for a number. My parting style was focused, not like "well bye". But, yeah Nayail. Your concern is my concern. I'm glad I was able to get as far as I did in the situation and I have what I have and that's that. And yes, I'm asking for advice on the best way to proceed and pull out the save. I don't think she'll ask how I got the number seeing as though it's in the wide open at the university directory and public information. If she does I'll say "I put (insert name here) in the school phone directory)". That's what everyone else does, anyway. |

Your opener was good because it was somewhat indirect, but you displayed sexual interest immediately by saying you were checking her legs out. She obviously likes you. Next time, try and have a discussion about the actual day 2, even arrange a time and place then and there. Then you're exchanging numbers just as a formality, like a receipt for the day 2 you've already planned. There is nothing gained by not getting the number and looking her up instead, it looks weak. Now that you have her number, CALL HER. Say who it is, time constraint, and if she sounds like she doesn't remember your name, remind her that you're the guy she couldn't stop making eyes at across the room at whatever restaurant, and so you finally went up to her cuz she was too shy to come to you. Get it? She's the one hitting on YOU. Then have a fun, flirty conversation, make her laugh, get a little bit of info about her, and then arrange a day 2. Meet her and FUCK THE SHIT OUT OF HER OREGANO SEASONED ITALIAN SAUSAGE FILLED VAGINA. |

I'm actually intrigued to hear how this worked out. I just joined this site, and I have to admit the guys here are a fountain of knowledge and seem to genuinely care about helping everyone else out. |
