If she cancels last minute, it could be for many reasons. It could be because her best friend needed to hang out with her, or that she had to finish things for work, or that she just didn't feel like going out that night. Those reasons may or may not have to do with you directly, and it'll be impossible to figure out if it does. Besides, you have more important things to do with your time than to worry about why a girl does or doesn't show up. The main thing is that you don't know exactly why she canceled and that it doesn't matter. What you want is to re-initiate the conversation again, build some more comfort with her, and establish a good connection. Wait a couple of days, and then send her a short text like, "I was in a store and saw a cute little toy, which reminded me of you. What r u up to?" Exchange a few texts, and give her a call. Let her feel comfortable with your voice. Towards the end of the conversation, invite her out, but to something less significant than a movie -- try a unique coffee shop, or a cool low-key bar for a quick drink. Have plans with friends afterward, and if it feels right, you can invite her along too. She can see that you have cool friends, which builds social proof and lets her know that you're a guy that appreciates good friends and good people in his life. |

It's best not to assume things from her side in these situations. I know there's this inner voice in you, accusing you time and again of something wrong you might have done, but this is when you shut it up, wait for a while, ask her out again. If she declines again, you move on. Women are plenty, time is short. |
